Ripping Sounds from GBA Games

How do you rip sound effects from Game Boy Advance Games?

How do you take out the music and leave only sound effects in the game and vise versa?

It varies with each game. I know some GBA games have in-game options to turn off music, but some don't and you'll have to rely on cheat codes that do it.

Really, it's the same deal as the SNES, Ian.

Actually, SNES samples are quite different from GBA samples. In fact, if you open a SNES ROM in Audacity, you get nothing. If you do the same with a GBA ROM, you get _all_ the samples after each other near the ROM's end.
But how about this?

He's not talking about samples in general, though - he's referring specifically to the sound effects.

Ah.. well, then, the old-skool way is the best approach. Shut down the sound channels you don't need and record dat shit son
