Dangerous spiders you've seen, heard of etc.?

I once had a nest of orb spiders behind my bed. I'm still not entirely convinced they're gone.

I believe I've seen a Brown Recluse a couple of times. Immediately vacuumed them up upon discovery though, to avoid risk of poison. Those and Black Widows are really the only spiders one needs to be afraid of. The others can't kill, or are at least tucked away in some corner where they wouldn't harm one anyway, unless they're antagonized. They get rid of the other bugs, so having one just chilling in a corner is a plus in my book~

Speaking of a Brown Recluse, one of those spiders actually bit a friend of my mother's a while back. What actually saved her was the fact that she was drunk and was unable to feel around for the spider on her back.
