Xat Adventures

so out of jealousy of sonic fan games i decided to make my own called Xat Adventures....its name is based off the chat rooms of xat and sonic adventure.....

it will have tons of zones and playable characters...

screenshots for now (note: these are mockups so they will not look perfect).....

1, don't use Photobucket; it ruins your images, and it takes forever to load cuz they gotta be all weird about how they display images. Imgur is better.
2, could you use IMG tags, please?

As for the game itself, that background on the first one is way too cluttered, and it makes the sprites hard to see. My eyes hurt just after looking at the first one.

sorry about the first image and how do i use IMG tags?

I made the sound track in the course of 3 weeks do keep in mind the sound quality changes a lot with the songs so do no't complain about ear rape....

Imgur is best because it doesn't modify your images, so they keep their pleasant pristine pixel perfect posterity. (QUINTUPLE ALLITERATION!)

Who's the guy on the right? I know the guy on the left is Sonic, but...is the guy on the right also Sonic? Is this game going to be a Sonicpalooza? I'm okay with that but...are these guys two Sonics.

My suggestion for cutscenes would be not to have the little tiny Sega Genesis sprite talk. On lower resolutions, no one is going to notice his mouth move unless it's zoomed in...and please don't do that it'll look kind of gross. I'd suggest making larger sprites for character dialogue, sort of like what...Sonic Battle does, actually.

You might want to just have that be independent from gameplay, though - forcing the game to briefly pause and character sprites fade out and have the cutscene characters slide in.

the two sonics are a hint that you can put any two of the playable characters together (think sonic advance 3......) and thanks for the feedback....and i thought i would keep the game at 320 x 224 as the resolution of the game to keep that 16-bit feel

well....i'll put it like this........if SG, super Mario world, Donkey Kong country 2, Sonic advance 3, and the genesis sonic games had a kid.............this game would be the kid......

That depends.
Are you actually going to work on the game? If you have nothing to show, there's no reason to bump the thread.
Nobody cares if you don't actually post anything.

Why do you even have a poll? If you need voice actors, then ask. If you need a coder, then ask. If you have more mockups, then post them. You shouldn't have to wait for us to tell you.

Also, you didn't really answer my question, since the games you listed have mutually incompatible features. What specifically are you going to put in your game?

well it was a mixed decision that's why i have the poll

and the features are..........a world map, the ability to switch characters around during levels, putting two different characters together for different results, multiplayer, password screen to input cheats, hidden levels (via bringing a key to a hidden exit), cutscenes, a harder mode if you beat the game, a hidden zone that's unlocked by beating the harder mode with the chaos emeralds, and finally a boss rush mode, and 15 playable characters........
