The problem is that the boomerang will be constantly rotating a full 360 with 180 frames by just changing the angle. So I cany really sprite 180 frames... so since I remember Boos were just pillowshaded, I figured id just do that to the boomerang.

Why do so many frames?! Just do a few of them. Having animation that smooth isn't just unnecessary; it would be too slow to be convincing. 8 frames at the most will do, and then you could shade each one so they stay consistent.

I'm just gonna be setting the sprite angle is what I ment. I'm just gonna have one sprite switching angles. But if you think that's still overkill a little, I'll do 8 frames.

I'm gonna try and revamp an old Goomba sprite for this.

So the chop itself I think is a little slow for the main attack, so I'm gonna use combos, the chop being the final blow. So i tried making a little slice like in the overhead zelda games but... Ehh...

For the one frame, it looked like the blade was curving in and then sticking out again the next one. Put a background on your sprites so the white doesn't blend in with the site. The hilt of the blade being the same color as his shirt makes it look like the blade is coming from his elbow, and it looks like he's holding his arm out and then swinging it forward, which, in my experience, makes for a weaker swing. He should have his arm across his chest, then swing outwards. As it is now, he doesn't even do a full slash; it looks like he's holding it at a weird angle in front of him.

It looks nice. The part where the lighter outline meets the darker outline should be rounder, though, especially on the back.

How's this?
And this? PS: The reason I can't do GIFS all the time is because I use my iPod most of the time.

It looks better. So far I see that when you use blur effects that it never touches the main sprite. It would be better if the blur on the second sprite actually overlaps the body a bit and make it a wee bit thinner so it can really look like a side slash.

Close. Make the arm go further back on the last frame, then fix the curve of the slash trail. Also, I think the third frame could use a bit of a trail, too.

It's a fluent animation, but the sword/dagger seems smaller at the end of the animation that it was in the beginning.

Wel its going into the background so it would appear smaller. And its a sword.
I tried a bow and arrow sprite, but it comes off as weak to me. Suggestions? Oh, and sorry about the BG. I guess copying and pasting isn't really reliable for transparent images.
