I'm alive \•0•/ So, first I want crits on the run, and,
Meta Knight pixel art. I think this is my best work yet. No Sword version: Thanked by: E-Man, Paladin, DragonDePlatino, Quirby64

I'm thinking the hammer head needs to be bigger. Also, the shading on the arms looks off to me.
Kirby's pose isn't making much sense. As it is currently, both of his arms/hands are protruding from the same side, when one arm should be grabbing on to the hammer from the opposite side of his body. Repositioning the face and feet a bit would help.

Shade; this is what I was trying to recreate. The arms are positioned like that (for some damn reason).

Update:
And how do people feel about Meta Knight?
Your kirby is off balance. Notice how in the ref, the hammer is over his base of support. In yours, it's off to the side and it looks like he's would fall backwards if he tried to walk like that or do any movement, really.

I'll finish Kirbs later. But right now...
PBG Redesign, with SpaceHamster. The game concept is going to be changed. I was toying with this for a while. The game will now be about PBG and SPACEHAMSTER!! The new PB&Jeff finally convinced me. I just need to think of a weapon idea for SpaceHamster.

He's Spacehamster, so why not a 60's styled ray gun of sorts?
Thanked by: Joxon

Tried two mugs. So each of them will have two items/weapons. PBG will have bombs and his sword. SpaceHamster will have a ray gun and... IDK, any ideas for secondary weapon? Made this a few days ago. There.

I had to do this in MS paint because my paint tool sai isn't working, and my tablet really hates letting me make curves in paint, so bear with me
Here, I'm trying to demonstrate what the original has that yours is lacking. If you notice, the original Kirby's pose has a certain intensity. This is achieved by positioning his body at more intense angles -- it's clear that he's leaning his weight into the pose, which shows the effort he's putting into it. In yours, everything is more-or-less vertical, so it looks like he's just standing with a hammer. The hammer in the original is also almost completely sideways, whereas the head of your hammer is tilted a little bit more towards the viewer. I think it would make more sense if it was tilted further away from us like in the original.

Adding on to StarSock64's point, your goal here is to have a strong line of action:
Before you even draw a character's skeleton, it's a good idea to draw a nice curved line to base the character's pose around. The smoother and more gradual the line of action is, the more elegant and dynamic the pose will feel. So really, the issue with the sprite could be summed up in one line. The Smash pose has a nice curve to it that starts at Kirby's foot, leads through his hand and ends at the tip of the hammer. Your sprite has an awkward change in angle where Kirby's hand meets the hammer. But with that being said, I think the detailing and color of your sprite is pretty awesome. It's just the posing that needs some work. Thanked by: Joxon, StarSock64, Virt, Garamonde
