Eh, I actually dislike blue arms because tan arms are far easier to distinguish among his features from any sort of resolution or limitations; but that's just me. (It also ties the colors in nicely)

What's funny is if he had no mustache to begin with, giving him a mustache would be what causes a shitstorm.

The thing is, if he never had a mustache, his character design would reflect that. Mario wouldn't look like Mario-without-facial-hair because his design would hve catered to that visual aspect. By the same token, Sonic's character design is constructed to work with his arms being colored distinctly from his body.

My first post was just meant to be a joke about how some fans (not all of them) are just complaining because it's different, like complaining about blue overalls Mario compared to red overalls Mario. I wasn't commentating on the designs themselves. (Though I do prefer tan arms myself.) Iceman makes a good point for him preferring one over the other. I doubt someone like CWC could make a coherent argument one way or the other. Thanked by: Iceman404

You know, I've always wondered if back in the late 80's, there was a 30-year-old high functioning autistic man who just wouldn't have blue-overalls Mario. I'd like to imagine that man penned several dozen letters to Nintendo, criticizing them for changing Mario's overalls from blue to red and vandalized his local department stores' Super Mario Bros. 3 boxes by making slipcovers for the game to reflect this. ...yes Thanked by: Zero Kirby, recme, ~Axis~, psychospacecow, Iceman404

Help .. and he'd "customize" cabbage patch kids with modeling clay to look like mario characters kfl;sdjhgkshgjk Thanked by: E-Man

I don't think the tan arms are all that important, especially now that Sonic uses 3D models instead of sprites.
The blue arms was and still is an issue with fans, as it was common with fan artists to do that mistake and be called out for it.
What was even worse, when we had Sega World in Australia. The designers seem to had no care with the art for Sonic. His arms were blue! They also had Knuckles with a white muzzle, the AOSTH versions of Tails and Robotnik, and Sally Acorn, who really should've been Amy Rose Yes, they featured a comic/tv exclusive female character instead of the one in the games for the artwork. Honestly, he just looks off/ugly with blue arms. But just be glad that Boom is a spinoff separate from the official canon. though really, it looks like it'll be short lived, due to how the games were the biggest flops the franchise has ever had.
