So I caved today and bought what I felt was an overpriced Mega Man, but it was the lowest price I had seen at 20 bucks after shipping. I am willing to spend a touch more for ones I really want, the only remaining ones being Ike, Dedede and Meta Knight.


Others I would love, but not enough to pay more than 13 bucks for, include Captain Falcon, Little Mac and Marth.

Wave 4 is going to be gross.

Robin, Lucina, and Ness are going to probably be rare as heck. I expect plenty of Warios and Charizards though.

What sucks is that the Fire Emblem Amiibos seem so rare right now (at least at normal retail prices), and yet they are being given the most playable form of dlc in Codename Steam.

They're manufacturing more Marths for the end of April. But anyway, if anyone is still looking for a Toad Amiibo there are some on GameStop's online store.

The GameStop online store is now out of Toad Amiibos. Toys R Us still has some online, but they mark all their Amiibos up a dollar :/

GameStop, Best Buy and Toys R Us all still have the Super Mario Yoshi Amiibo, which has gotten a little rare for some reason.

Not only does Toys R Us have the Smash Yoshi Amiibos, which are also rare, they are on sale for 10.99! Both Toys R Us and Walmart have sales on common Amiibos as well.

Some previously rare Amiibos (Bowser, DK, Sheik, Sonic and Mega Man) are no longer rare and can be found all over the place.

Not...really. He's Yoshi. He's a little harder to find from store-to-store because he's actually popular, compared to a character like Toad (which will probably be out of stock until the Internet realizes that he's part of a fairly unpopular line that Nintendo's gonna push aggressively regardless)
Most stores have been putting the SSB series on sale to make room for the SMB versions of those amiibo. You'll be able to find those characters just as easily, though - stores are still getting shipments of them. They just came out so they'll be a little hard to find initially - kind of like popular release-day games, I guess.

I feel like if the Internet didn't originally freak the fuck out over limited quantities of amiibo, we wouldn't have half the "situation" we're in with now. It feels like something fueled entirely by social media.

If SSB Mario becomes "rare" after April 3rd because stores are going to be removing him from shelves to make room for the standalone Mario, that'll be...well, rich. And I'll be right :/

Sorry, I'd have responded a lot earlier but I can't log in on mobile. The Smash Yoshi is pretty uncommon. I probably shouldn't have used rare to describe any of the ones you can still find online.

As with all rumors though, I'd take that with a grain of salt for now. It makes sense, though and it'd be nice if this results in scarcity no longer being a thing. The whole thing with scarcity is pretty stupid anyhow.
Also kinda inversely? with that article, I think most retailers are holding off on preorders for Wave 4 because they're still waiting on Nintendo to give them a solid number for preorders, instead of like "heh heh, it's coming just you wait" - which is basically what happened with Ike and Dedede. Of course, if Nintendo's gonna wait for their land channel to be all clear before announcing pre-orders, that'll be a little while. But if it means they'll be released in like July instead of April so they can secure enough for everyone's preorders, that's totally fine and kosher with me.

If that rumor's true, that also means recme and I can finally get Captain Falcon for a decent price.

(I wonder if the port strike being over and getting things moving again also means we'll get the New 3DS with the faceplates someday)

Oh, oops. Sorry if my post came off as cocky. Yeah, that's happening but I...don't see that working out too well among retailers, because the Marth Lust is real
I wonder if you'll be able to pre-order the Marth restock at some places, sort of like the Shulk restock at Gamestop.

Oh, I wasn't trying to correct you. I just wanted to clarify that the Marth announcement wasn't part of that rumor.
