I'm currently in the idea stage of my Smash bros. fan game (I never heard that before) And I was thinking about the recolors. I'm asking if anyone has up to 10 recolor ideas for any character they would like to see in smash bros., or for a character that's in already. It can be in text forme, or in a picture, choose your poison.

What characters are you putting in to begin with? Unless you're including every character that's already in the official games, it's a bit pointless to suggest colors for characters that might not even get in.
Even so, the "idea stage" isn't really the right time to worry about what palette swaps you'll have. You should be focusing on the "actually making a game" part.

I'm doing both actually, but "idea stage" I meant putting it in motion, I already programmed about 7% of the characters, by which I mean the walking code for everyone, you know the basic stuff. I made this so when I need to, I can go back, and look at the ideas so I can use them. BTW the characters WILL include every character from SSB64 to SSBB including Pacman, Megaman, And Shantae, I was going to create a website for it too, but I have to think about that deeper.

Are you collecting sprites from various sources like most SSB games do? Or do you have someone making them all in a unified style?

Regardless, I still think it's kinda unnecessary to be thinking about palettes this early in the process.
You probably should't even be /thinking/ about palette swaps until after all of the actual game mechanics are hammered down and working. Cosmetic changes are afterthought/polish tier stuff.

If you absolutely must have different colored sprites for testing, just use GM's hue shift to make placeholders. Then you can recolor/outfit them yourself later, once all the mechanics are smoothed out.
