It's alright, but it pales in comparison to Puyo Puyo, lol. Which explains why it was left behind on the NES xD. Puyo Puyo and Tetris are the top two puzzle game series in Japan. What the hell happened to Columns?

Including the original game, I count all eight console generations, and every major Nintendo home console other than the GameCube (for which there was a release in Japan). I just unlocked Wario's Woods on Animal Crossing. It's Fantastic ~
Too bad the Gamecube controller is so awful for 2D games...

It seriously beats the NES version in every way, IMO. If only it would show its face on Virtual Console... It's one of the few Nintendo games that was exclusively released in North America. (Japan got a Satallaview version) I'm still waiting for my Euro SNES controller to come in, until then I can't play any SNES games :[ Thanked by: Kriven

For some reason I always prefered the NES Wario's Woods. All this Puyo talk makes me sad at the lack of Puyo in my life. Seriously, why is there no Puyo Puyo any more?

There is, they're all just Japanese.
There were three Puyo Puyo games on the DS (15th anniversary, 20th anniversary, and Puyo Puyo 7) and Puyo Puyo vs. Tetris on the 3DS. If you have a flash cart or are willing to import then the DS games are relatively easy to play but PP/T is of course region locked so unless you've got a Japanese 3DS you're out of luck until someone figures out how to break the region locks.

You know, I never really thought about it before, but Meteos is basically just a Panel de Pon clone isn't it? Just with a bit of an extra gimmick to it.

It's sort of like vertical PanePon, yeah.
Of course there's the whole spaceship aspect to it, but the block switching gameplay is the same thing on its side.

Puyo Puyo Tetris is also on the PS3 and PSVita, which aren't region locked. If you happen to own those systems, you can play without hassle. I do not, so I've missed out all this time. Why don't they ever do PC releases too? Urrgh!

I get the impression that PC gaming isn't as big in Japan.
