Not bad Gors~
I think I like Pik's better, because it more closely aligns the official artwork.
But your version is definitely a nice creative twist on a familiar sprite~

If you do it to a bite-sized sprite, you get a normal-sized sprite.
Yay for sprite math!

Lemme just say I really love this bite-sized sprite thing. Simplistic and retro at the same time. And then the res-lift modernizes them, but still keeps it pixel-ish.
It's impossible to put any shading on sprites that small with outlines, lol. And I hate outline-less sprites, because they blend in with the background XD. I'm sure tiles at this size would be no problem to shade though. Would tiles qualify for this thing? That's something I need to practice more.

I gave it a try. This is a character named Dana from the NES game, Fire 'n Ice.

If that's a woman, she looks very masculine.
I don't think you should've gotten rid of the outline. Also the feet seem really odd being almost 180 degrees apart. I think the angle on the closer foot could've been fixed up slightly. Other than those, I've not found much more.

Thanks for the feedback!
It's a dude. You would think that with the name "Dana" it would be a woman, and I did start making it feminine, but I googled the game just to make sure. Turns out it a guy, so I had to change it. lol
As for the feet, I agree. I just left them like that because that's how the old sprite was.

I've been upsizing a Metroid Queen from Metroid 2. I should dig that up and post it!
EDIT: It's happening! I dug out the sprite, and I am actually working on it!

The way those looked, I always thought they were cat like statues, lol. Your body feathers on it look like hearts x3.
