I think the gun should have another frame coming back down. It's still taking only one frame to go back down, just without the motion blur, so it looks kind of choppy by comparison. You could leave the mid-way frame as it is and just have a quarter-way frame towards the end so the motion slows down as it goes, like he's resteadying his hand to take aim again.
