The one forgotten franchise I really want to be revived, is Klonoa.
Almost no one knows what or who Klonoa is, which I'm happy to try to show for a bit.
Much like most of his games, it goes at a classic formula of platforming that continues to go though most of the 3D platforming games like Sonic the Hedgehog, Crash Bandicoot, Mario and Spyro. Because of the new hardware increasing after a year or decade or whatever, there doesn't seem to be much important for the Klonoa series for the new hardware other than increased length of the game, better graphics etc. Which I believe this will work, if there will be a Klonoa game, or remake of any kind, it would work best with handheld consoles, especially the 3DS. There isn't much to be going for a game in 2.5D on the NX, unless the game works like a Mario game, and has like-said much increased length, better graphics etc. The 3DS might work the best, as the controller layout looks like it would be used in platforming games like New Super Mario Bros 2, the lower screen can be used as a mini-map to indicate if you're half way or near the end, again like SMB2, it will show a symbol that starts off as blank, but will glow more when you save a prisoner that can be seen throughout the level and other elements from other Klonoa games. While it still keeps its gameplay true to itself, such as the 2.5D gameplay, it would include a little more than just that. Unlike the Wii Remake, this Klonoa game might have a completion bonus whenever you complete a task of challenges after you complete the game. For example, if you complete the game, you're rewarded with Klonoa's attire from previous games, and a Wind Sword that is first seen in Klonoa Heroes, a game that's Japanese exclusive for whatever reason, which as if you are rewarded with the Wind Sword, you can swap it with your Wind Bullet albeit with the touchscreen.
For the storymode, it would be pretty simple, and would follow the events of Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil. While I haven't played the game yet, as I'm waiting for a downloadable version on the PSN Store or as a port on the Wii U is available.
This is the amount of ideas if there was a new Klonoa game, of course. Unfortunately, I really am not that good on making information like this, as I have no gaming knowledge when it comes to design choices.
Oh, and if that doesn't work, I hope there will be the Wiimake and a port of Klonoa 2 on the eShop or whatever. Anything works.

Konami should have ported the next three Ganbare Goemon Super Famicom games to Virtual Console in their last breath. They really left retro enthusiasts like me hangin'.
I played Klonoa and Goemon
and if I had to choose between one of those, I'd have to pick Goemon without even thinking
Goemon is a more fun experience for me - the zanyness peppered with actual japanese history/mythology keeps me more entertained

Lately I've been thinking that I don't necessarily need a franchise to continue... sometimes a series just kind of runs its course, or a game is meant to stand on its own and doesn't need a sequel to be important, like a classic novel or movie. Yet, those things don't need to be forgotten... They can be celebrated in games like Super Smash Bros. and Konami Crazy Racers. I'd like to see more of that--celebratory games with representation of specific video games that may have been left in the past.
