What kind of mic do you have? You might want to save up for a better one

Yyyyyeah I didn't want to be the guy to say this first. I feel like I'm watching a Let's Play recorded over the phone in prison.
You may want to invest in a headset that has noise reduction like the SteelSeries Siberia v2, and do some tweaking in Audacity to make your voice sound all Crisp and Nice As Heck
EDIT: Also, this isn't anything against you but did they lose all of the original Paper Mario vector graphics from TTYD in a fire or something? Super Paper Mario bugs the absolute hell out of me because everyone is really simple, random geometric shapes and Mario doesn't fit into the atmosphere at all.
Hell, Sticker Star looks better than Super Paper Mario to me tbh

I don't recommend a headset, just get a nice beginner mic like the Blue Snowball or Blue Yeti.
Also watch these!
yyyyyeah, just listen to this guy, especially if you're planning to monetize off your channel or something ^

I totally agree about this, in some regards. Especially later in the game when you see Paper Mario sprites with all these new characters that look reallly weird and out of place. I think the reason for all these geometric shape like characters is because Mario and co are actually in another dimension. But at the same time, there are Goombas and Koopa Troopas just like any other Paper Mario. It annoyed me as a kid, but I did like the plot.
(also, Sticker Star looks pretty good tbh, the presentation is top notch. Just sucks that the gameplay and plot fall fuckin' flat)
Also, those were some pretty helpful tutorials, Helmo!

My headset is a Turtle Beach Ear Force X12. The guys at the Gamestop where I bought it said it was really good, but I can't seem to get it sounding as good as popular LPers do.
Also, I see where you are coming from but SPM's graphics didn't bother me at all. I just thought "Hey, Mario's entered a new dimension where everything is different" and it really fit when I thought about it that way. Some characters still fit the PM style, like Welderburg too. I will check out those videos.
Also I kinda thought the first episode sounded like shit, but I improved it in the later ones, except for the extra loud parts.

well, of course theyll tell you its very good. they want you to buy their product, so theyll tell you what you want to hear to that you can buy it!

But...it's made by Turtle Beach. It's not rebranded Gamestop brand.
That said, I also had a Turtle Beach headset. It's great for use on an XBOX but its performance on PCs leaves a lot to be desired.

Actually, watching these reminded me: If you're too poor/lazy to set up a sound room to record and there's no room in your closet to do Let's Plays in, you can always make a pillow fort to record in. Sure, you'll look ridiculous to outsiders but the sound won't reverberate and there won't be any outside things for your mic to pick up!

So I've neglected to update this thread, but worry not. Super Paper Mario is now complete, playlist here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...Eo7TnDj_dU
My current project is a relatively obscure SpongeBob GBA game, Supersponge: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...ocCSJFidhK
This will only last 5 episodes, and after a break to record ahead again and for E3 stuff, my plan was originally to do Super Mario RPG blind, but I decided not to do that for reasons discussed in this video:
Instead, as mentioned in the above video, I will be doing Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
Hi! Rather than making another thread I thought I'd use this one to give an update on my YT projects.
I got a new mic as many in this thread suggested, but I forgot this thread existed so I'm only just now getting around to updating it.
TTYD is over half way completed, I only have two chapters to go.
Latest episode can be found here:
In episode 38 I was testing a new mic and it was bad. Luckily I still have the Snowball so I went back to that.
Also would this be better suited to the other creativity board? If so I apologize on behalf of myself a year ago but could a staff member move it? Thanks.
