Stage's Thread of Adequate Sprites in Progress
#1
I made sprites. I want to show my sprites. See my sprites. Blank

So first I have some entirely custom sprites of one of the Sky People from Kirby Triple Deluxe in Super Star/Ultra style.

Next I have Rick the Hamster from KDL2 in the same style.

But more recently, here's something not Kirby related: Rosalina as a character in SNES Mario 2.

So whadd'ya think? Good? Bad? Decent? Needs more salt? Eh?

Wow. I have to say these look really good. Keep it up. The only thing I have to say is that the upper part of Rosalina's dress on the idle has is too dark, and needs some more lighting.

Why thank you! To be honest, I'm not sure if the first two sheets are going for the look of the original Kirby Super Star or the DS remake. Probably the latter because these sprites look too neat to be KSS sprites. As for Rosalina, these ones are very early. Like, started today early. In fact, I already made her have her arms to her sides like in 3D World and fixed up her hair.

And I'm not entirely satisfied with her hair yet.

That Rosalina that you made looks way better, and for the bang, you should probably shrink it.

I instantly really like Rick the Hamster in KSS/U style. However, you could either remove the darkest brown and grey or edit them, because around the bottom there's banding happening from those colors.

I think these all have some great potential! I've always wanted to see the Kirby helpers adapted to Superstar style. And a plat forming Rosalina will be awesome for people.

Good call. I also made it so you can see her ear and I sacrificed some of the detail of her hair to further the SNES SMB2 style (Peach's hair wasn't quite as accurate in that game either).

Here's an issue though. I have no idea how to give her hair lighting without it being pillow shaded. Right now it looks REALLY BAD OH NO.

Sure! I'll get to it when I can.

Of course. I love the aesthetic style of KSS/U, and I love converting stuff that isn't there into that style. Always interesting to see the result. And I'm sure retro-fitted Rosalina sprites would interest many others too.

Hi everybody! I'm back from my 5 month hiatus! Don't remember me? I don't blame you!

Anyway, here's everyone's favorite screeching fungi, Toad! Specifically, if he were a playable character in SMB3 on SNES. Do note, I used the standing sprite from SMB3's "help!" cutscenes, but nearly everything else uses his SMB2 sprites as a base. Besides outline and palette though, his 2 and 3 stand sprites are similar. Make of that what you will.
