DS Vania Rip Project

I checked, Goliath is in fact resized larger. It's kinda weird since we know for a fact the DS can handle larger enemies and bosses, like the giant knights.
Doofenshmirtz: This is a little bit awkward but have you seen my escape jet keys? (Perry nods) What, you have? Well that's great! So where are they? (Perry looks away) You won't tell me? Is this because you don't speak or are you just being a jerk?

I would guess it's because Goliath is just a sprite edit of The Creature/Enkidu/Rebuild.

Anyway, I claim Arthroverta. Have the sprites ripped, working with palettes. It appears to be made of legos. Crab legos.

Not so sure if I want to claim Wallman, as getting to him on a glitchy emulator will be a pain.

Success! This wasn't the easiest thing in the world and there might be chance that I missed something. I'll keep looking. If I have, say something! The toughest part was figuring out the palettes for parts of Mr. Verta that rean't really visible (like his back legs). But hey, now we've got everybody's favorite Contra refugee!

UPDATEVery Sad Removed a few duplicate sprites that were sitting next to Arthroverta's head, added Arthro in cocoon and rolling. THose sprites were just cut out of screenshots, as the cocoon has some weird stretching effects going on, and I felt lazy about the rolled-up sprite.

Special thanks to Smithy for helping me get the programs working in order to do this!

Looking good. Smithy was telling me he was having trouble with that guy. Sure you got everything?

I think so. Toward the end, I went back over every tile again and compared palettes. If something is missing, then it might be a frame for one of the teeny-tiny legs, or possibly a ground spark/fire frame, as some of those were scattered around in other frames.

What's funny is that noe it's going to be really rough to get *to* the things I want to rip in order to get the correct save states. Anywhere that has save states for download? I don't want to claim someone like Wallman yet if I'm not sure that the glitchy slowdown emulator will let me survive long enough to see him.

Smithy said you did, so... Big Grin

Good job. Can't wait for Wall Man.

I claim the iron maiden trap! I just spent a few minutes walking into it because the emulator glitched, so I'm taking it down!
(EDIT) here it is. One Iron Maiden. I'll get to Wallman when I actually reach him in the emulator.

Admit it, you intentionally walked into one of these just to see what would happen.

Claim Nightmare.

Is anyone going to rip the character's dialogue portraits from Ecclesia?

edit: I don't want to, it's just a suggestion if anyone can find them.

I found the dialogue portraits already ripped over here.

It's Nightmare time! The legs have to be manually rotated for anything resembling a dynamic pose, which sucks. Interestingly, therre was concept art for Dawn of Sorrow that looked just like this design. They must've been held back for two games.
Horsey!

I didn't feel like calling them, but here are the Winged Guard and Winged Skeleton.

That's fine. Smile
Ghost and Banshee are up from me.
Also, I can't fidn the palettes for the dialogueportraits. I've tried changing the offset manytimes and have never found the actual beginning to any of them.

Claiming Skeleton Rex.

Will be completed either before or after I return from class. This is another rotation-heavy tileset, so as well as the tiles, and some assembled samples, I will include sprites ripped directly from screenshots to show in-game poses.

(EDIT)

Claimed, saw, done. Rex is a weird one. The red eyes are NOT included in its tileset, and the graphics have to be rotated severely to give it any sort of a decent pose. However, it had only one tileset.

Yeah, I noticed that with Goliath as well since he had red eyes ingame, but it nevershowed up in his tileset.

Just completed one of the two that I claimed at the beginning: Miss Murder! She was surprisingly simple, with only two palettes and no rotation needed. I don't know what those weird blocks are for, though.

Also, please update the links for my other sheets:

Finally! Wallman is done!

Some interesting things I noticed:

1. He is made of a surprisingly huge amount of pieces.

2. Wallman and his bombs take up a lot of different colors. I eventually mmade bright pink the background just so I wouldn't possibly clash with anything.

3. He has a lot of similar but-not-quite palettes. This made things quite interesting.

4. One tile has two identical sprites of his book, but in different colors. I can't figure out why, either.

Just what is he reading, anyway?
