The bin is over 6GB. I'll see what I can do when I get home.

Here's the first roughly 400mb.

Let me know if I need to upload more. I used Hjsplit to break it up.

edit: Just remembered the old application that somebody showed me. It can view the .pac files and several animations that are in them that aren't the segs style "hip" files. It's called hipster:

This raises the point - there are actually 2 kinds of .hip files, those with the segs header, and those without. A converter for both kinds would be handy - if example files are needed for both, I'd be happy to provide those from another game by the same dev.

I somehow missed this post and I'm kicking myself because this made my life so much easier. Feel free to throw things at me for target practice.

I've used this for Rise, and the majority of her files worked! Though it seems like some of the frames didn't convert, but they're (so far) working with Ploaj's program for some... reason...? I may even have her up today! Big Grin

I still need Margaret though, and then I'll have all the new characters up. No idea how to decompress that PS3 .bin file; has anyone taken a look at the parts I uploaded?

Seeing a bunch of segs, but no global header. It might be at the end though, can you send the last 200MB or so?

Bummer, nothing there. Is there anything that looks like some sort of index file? I could just extract all the files with their offset as their name, but I feel like there should be names somewhere.

The eboot bin maybe?

If not I can upload the rest of the bbtdata.bin file, but it'll take awhile.

I... see the eboot file has gotten a few downloads. Has anyone had any luck with this?

I've never done something like this before, so I really don't know what I'm doing here.

The eboot.bin from what I've seen doesn't contain any names. It's an executable for the game, contains startup code and loading code also.

All right; I'll take it down because I have a feeling it's being downloaded for other reasons.

I'll start uploading the rest of bbtdata.bin.

Okay, that entire .bin file is on my Mediafire account now. Please let me know when a solution is found; I really don't want to keep those files up there for very long.

Thank you all so much for helping me with this.

I don't want to sound pushy because I know people have lives and these things take time, but I'd really like to get those files off my Mediafire ASAP. I've already had one strike against me on there; I don't want to lose my account.

How about... can someone tell me how to look for the Global Header, and proceed from there? It'd be a good learning experience for me to boot.

Sorry, I keep forgetting about this. I'll take another look, there might be some way to extract the files, albeit without filenames.

A "global header" (which I just made up to use instead of "header", to differentiate from the segs headers which are there) would look like a collection of filenames. If you open some files with a hex editor and look in the right column, which displays it as text, scrolling through you might be able to find something.

All right, I started, but I see what you mean about the segs right now (not to mention a ton of just blank space, nice). I'll try to look more while I'm at work, but this might take awhile; a lot of what I saw was just a complete mess.
