What is this game even?!
I mean, I've played it several times, I know what it is, but what is this game!??!
In addition to the sprites I've ripped already (and there are quite a few I haven't even arranged to upload yet!), there are almost 600 individual frames to rip just for the chapter intros and another 626 images just of still images. I haven't even gotten to the battle system yet. This is all story graphics. All graphics.
HOW DID THIS FIT ON A NDS CART?!
No wonder there was only one semi-attempt to try and translate this game. Any extra byte snuck in to try and make it look like a professional translation and the game would probably barf.
And I would like to know what nitwit, bubble brained developer thought it was a good idea to place pure black in the transparency slot for the story images?!
I may take a break from Code Geass for awhile; I've gotten my hands on SMT4 and Persona Q, so I'm going to try and see what I can do with those. Never tried to mess with a 3DS game before, so this should be interesting.

So, I bit off more than I could chew with the Geass game. Dear lord I'm no where near done; I'm just starting to tackle the battle system right now, and I've run into another part of the game that has 300+ images to rip. Just kill me.
I took a little break to do something easy and... I... feel a little bad for inflicting this monstrosity on TSR.

...the game icon should give you an idea of what to expect once I start ripping the enemy sprites and tiles. The developers clearly did not care about this game, because all of it is easily accessible.

After this I'm taking a little bit of a break to focus on finishing my NaNoWriMo project before January so I can cash in on my free printed copy, but I totally want to learn how to dump the rest of SMT4's data. There are so many 2D images in this game, it'd be a very awesome addition to the site.

...it's hard to focus on a role-swap AU murder mystery set in Japan while my brain is constantly going STARWARSSTARWARSSTARWARS.

Hey, a little update just before Christmas. Enjoy the P4 kouhai and Teddie.
Also, have some notes on the projects I have planned:
- Code Geass: Finishing ripping with in battle conversations and Knightmare Frames and calling it there. Not sure if I want to try to rip the battle backgrounds or not -- they're huge.
- Sailor Moon DS: Enemies, tiles, and backgrounds left. Not very hard. Might do the sound effects too but they're terrible.
- Persona 4 Ultimax: Need to finish P4 senpai, Elizabeth, and Labrys. I'll probably combine Labrys and Shadow Labrys since they only have 5 frame sets different from each other. Need to figure out the .DDS files and how to actually view them... I think I know what I screwed up last time I tried this. Once I do that I can update everyone with their battle effects. After that, it'll be the sound files, which are also compressed? I think?
- Bleach: The 3rd Phantom: TSR only has the walking graphics for the map sprites. There are many more sprites for all the characters than what is available. Will probably disregard the .zip file that's currently up and do sheets for all characters and their effects separately. There's a lot of other images that are easily viewed, so I'll rip those too. Unfortunately this does not include the in battle sprites (see below). And I'll rip the sound files, of course (including the undub).
- Other Bleach DS Games: Want to get the battle sprites for these games ripped, but I have no idea where to start. Some of these are in .TEX format? Textures? What? Also trying to Google it was fun.
- Nameless Game (Eye): Want to rip the 2D graphics for these games, but they're in a weird format -- possibly because of the intentional "glitching" that's done in the 2D segments. Need to research this more.
- Persona 4: Going to go through the files already up on TSoR and remove any cut Japanese dialogue. These will be re-included with the Japanese sound files that I'll rip next.
- Persona 3 (and P3P): Everything that's not already up on TSR. Also, English and Japanese sound files for TSoR.
- Tales of the Abyss: Noticed a distinct lack of skit faces on TSR. Need to fix that. May also do this for other Tales games.
- 3DS games: Research more on getting this done (possibly also just get an older 3DS so I don't have to mess with my current one too much). Plan on ripping graphics and sounds from SMT4 and also Persona Q, with the possibility of other games in the future.
It's been a quiet Christmas, so I did something different. I've included Yu and Izanagi's battle effects, and I've also cropped all the images so there is not so much blank space. I'll do this for the last ones to come, and go back and do the others.
(And yes, I have the right pallet for Izanagi-no-Okami.)
After some investigation, it turns out a lot of the .DDS 3D effect files are... well, kind of crappy? They're really blurred and don't make much sense, and after some poking around it looks like that's intentional. There's something in the game that makes better sense of it. I'm not sure what, and I'm not going to worry about it. A lot of the 3D effects are clouds and lightning and things like that? So there's no real big loss there.
Whoops, I was bored.
There are others, but I think I'll put them on a sheet since there are only a few files for each one.
Another round of character and Persona for the P4AU section!
And started on the Knightmare Frames for the DS Code Geass game! I'm... kind... of crossing my fingers on the names there? Like I know things like "Burai" and "Gekka" are correct from the anime, but there are quite a few Frames added to pad out the game and make it more challenging, and I'm leaning heavily on what English translation there is being correct, because I'm one of the two people that have actually played and 100%'d the game so info on it is hard to find.
Oh, and I don't know Japanese. So yeah. Hope that English translation is right!
Things I learned today: Tile Molester works a lot better with SNES games than it does with GBA games.
Wanted to do more, but I'm having a little bit of trouble with some of the sprites. They always seem to be one line of pixels off, and I can't seem to get it right. I'm totally open to suggestions.
