I'm gonna attempt to rip kingdom hearts sounds
#1
I was wondering if anyone here is familiar with ripping from the KH ps2 games.

If not I plan to use cheat engine with an pcsx2 to find the values for the sound banks and force it to play specific sounds. I would obviously disable the background music. Would this be allowed since it isn't a direct file rip?

There's got to be an easier way to get the files. Have you tried loading the ISO in PSSound?

Well, the music is something not allowed on TSoR, because you can get it easily on a soundtrack (and KH has a very nice soundtrack that's worth the money). I can only suggest playing with the bitrate in the options menu if you want to go that route. If you want to go for the other sounds in the game, I can try taking a look at what's there myself and point you in the right direction, but it won't be until Thursday.

I knew that. I wanted to rip it for personal reasons. Also, I ripped straight off of my disc so I already gave them money. Actually I have bought every kh game (re: version only of com and coded and I haven't bought the hd ones due to a lack of ps3) sothat really isn't an issue for me. I think it's trying to rip a stereo or maybe even surround file as mono.

...giving the developer money for buying the game is not the same as giving the music producer money for buying the soundtrack. Ouch! Sweatdrop

Just play with the options menu.  That's all I can suggest.

yeah but I've bought every game. The only song actually worth buying separately is the Simple and Clean Planitb remix. I actually bought that whole album Wink
