Sometimes, imitation is a work of art. In fact, some people might of been influenced, and snuck some references in their music.
For starters, here's one that caught me off guard. The GBA version of Donkey Kong Country 3 had to have new music composed, since the GBA couldn't handle the low notes in it's OST. (Amazing sound hardware, right?), Here's the GBA version of the track "Nuts and Bolts".
Note the beat for the 1st couple seconds sounds oddly like this:
Yup, the Non-US version of the Sonic CD boss theme. Both of the into beats sound like they have an uncanny design to each other, by the instruments used, and the general beat. Not to mention both play behind the main music. The only real difference is that's it's off by one note in DKC3.
Dunno if it's intentional, but I found that funny. Also, post any oddly similar beats you've found.
