Official MLP:FIM game-will we ever get one?

I have brought this discussion up numerous times on other forums, so I felt it was about time that I brought it over here to this one, as it is about video games  

So as you may or may not tell by my avatar, I am a brony. As such, I've been keeping up with a majority of all news related to My Little Pony. However, there is one thing regarding the series that just won't leave my mind...

When are we ever going to get an official MLP:FIM video game?

It's a question that's been stirring among the community for quite a while, and for good reason: the show has pretty much covered every single type of media that can be thought of...except for video games. You'd think with the show going on for about 5-6 years now, we'd have a pony game right about now. Sure there are plenty of fan games out there, but what I wanna know is when will get an official one-as in licensed by Hasbro?

Now I know what you're probably thinking: "But there is a MLP game on the app store for phones!" While yes, I am aware that game exists, my main concern is when we'll see one for consoles. Besides, the phone game sucks anyway (I mean, they charge you a ton of money to do even the most basic things. Hey Hasbro, not every kid is as rich as Diamond Tiara!), and I personally don't count phone games as real games.

So long story short, will we ever get an official MLP:FIM game anytime soon? Discuss.

This is probably the closest thing you're going to get without it being a mediocre cash that is expected of that kind of series.

With all the shovelware that was produced to promote the older franchises, I can't see a gamer-worthy adaptation for this generation.

Yeah, as much as Hasbro is trying to expand markets (what with action figures that looks to target males), I seriously doubt we'll get a console game. And if we do, its going to be a bad one.

It would be cool since the Transformers have gotten good games recently. But I doubt it.

I feel... No, it seems that a MLP game for consoles would probably be a simplified low budget game for girls. For reasons I can't fathom, a grand majority of female children have cell phones. I think that Hasbro trying to make a game to fulfil the desires of a rather small audience of males who happen to own a game console and enjoy MLP would be a useless business venture that would leave the company with a lot of wasted money

Seriously though, it's taken years for another good (assuming the next one is good) TMNT game, which has a much broader audience - asking for a console MLP game - you're more likely to see a Mario and Halo movie be made.

If it ever were to happen, I could probably imagine a studio in Japan making a few games that are pretty well-designed. It's happened before with other large franchises like Godzilla (every game about Godzilla that was released in the US was significantly less-playable than the games they got in Japan). Eventually (early-mid 2000s) they decided to give the rights to more reliable game companies in the US, so we got a slew of really fun games that make people like AVGN wish they had better games back in the day.

It could happen with MLPFiM, but we can't really predict.

Just dropping by to make this quick statement:

Hasbro, if you're hearing this, please have a trustworthy game developer (Preferably not Hasbro Gaming or Gameloft) to make a well-needed MLP game. I don't care if it comes in the form of a character fun pack for Lego Dimensions, just give us an actual MLP game that's not on a cell phone!
