When it comes to Scooby, there's one of the later series that I think actually did a much better job than the original series: Mystery Incorporated.

To begin with, for the first time, it actually has an ongoing plot within the episodes and character development. Some little thing that was given some attention in an earlier episode turns out to be a key piece in the puzzle for the whole plot, which is always a nice little touch for continuity. But seriously, if you haven't seen this, I definitely recommend romping through it at some point, you most likely won't be disappointed. It only lasted two seasons, unfortunately, but it did finish its story. It ends in a way that sort of denotes it as a prequel to the original series.

The thing about Teen Titans Go is... I think I would have liked it were it not produced by Cartoon Network/DC/WB and had it not made a big deal of having the original voice talent and universe of the other show. TTG, basically, feels like a fancomic/fantoon the way we have things like Brawl in the Family or the Sonic Shorts cartoons (TTG is definitely more of the latter), except... the actual publishers decided it would be a good idea to make their own "Short Dumb Parody Cartoon" instead of leaving it up to the fans.

Basically TTG would have been fine done as an independent parody online. It's a bit of an odd flavor to wear as "official" programming.

I think the real sucker about it is that it uses those characters, lol. Like, I bet there wouldn't have been nearly as much of a backlash if they used original characters for that.

The same sentiment extends to The Looney Tunes Show actually. While I did like that one myself, and give them points for just trying something different with familiar characters, it would've been way more well received if they just made their own toons and mixed them with humans for that. In fact, it probably would've been successful. The huge backlash undoubtedly came from the fans of the old Looney Tunes shorts who were expecting the same kind of slapstick and chaos.

Uhh... pretty sure there's a thing called character development to fix that.

Besides not like Bellum didn't have a role in some episodes in the original like say, the actual episode about feminism when Bellum, Keane, and one other chartacter talked to the girls about what feminism was really about instead of treating men like shit like the villain of that episode was manipulating them into doing.

Or the time Bellum actually helped the girls fight Sedusa (EDIT: Thanks Kriven!) in that one episode.

Yeah, but that's two episodes of a 6 season series. Too boot, most of the time she pretty much is competent and sarcastic, dragged along with the Mayor's troubles, or just not there. This season put her on the bus with the most logical character development of them all: believing that the person she worked for is capable of handling things on his own. Like a mother bird letting their baby fly on their own. Its pretty much the only good development she can get without making her flawed or have a love interest with the Mayor.

Scooby-doo retains most of the elements that made the original so great, and even improves upon it sometimes. I recently ended-up catching Scooby Doo Wrestlemania on Cartoon Network (about a month or so ago???). I actually enjoyed it, I wanted to see the end, I wanted to know who was the monster, and WHY they wanted to scare people away. Now, I will say nothing about the newest scooby doo series, as I've not watched it yet... but, Scooby doo, unlike the bulk of these other reboots and spin-offs, somehow retains the focus of the original show.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who liked Scooby Doo Wrestlemania Mystery. And this is as a fan of both franchises. As for Be Cool Scooby Doo, don't expect it to be another Mystery Incorporated. Its like a combination of What's New Scooby Doo with A Pup Named Scooby Doo. Add with that the most original Daphne of the Franchise.

As for Teen Titans Go... Yeah, its pretty bad. But they do have minor moments of good stuff. I think 40% 40% 20% is a good episode and the best of the series.

Didn't the TTG folks straight up say that they never watched the original show? That's a bit messed up if that is indeed the case, that's like being a translator and not understanding the language you need to translated.

I don't think they actually said that. In fact, one episode was spent saying how awesome the original one was.

It would appear that they've admitted to how ridiculous their show is compared to the original. At least they're somewhat humble about it. >.>

1B. The commercials for Be Cool Scooby Doo honestly had me a little worried. It's still not on my list of things to watch, though, I'm so horribly far behind on everything else, anyways.

The art style for Be Cool Scooby Doo is really off-putting. Mainly due to it having the same people who worked on Brickleberry involved in it.
Brickleberry was one of the worst cartoons made for Comedy Central, and it's baffling it lasted three seasons instead of one.

At least this Scooby Doo goes back to the classic monster-of-the-episode and mystery solving format instead of what DC is doing to it.

Do we really need Shaggy to be a hipster? It's not the same thing as a hippie.

Warner Bros really needs to revive more Hanna Barbera franchises for TV. Someone better than Seth Macfarlane can bring back Flintstones.
I heard there might be a new Wacky Races show coming this year. Wonder if they'll bring back Jim Cummings for Dick Dastardly.
He's pretty much the only successor to Paul Winchell and Sterling Holloway, as he's already taken over most of their famous characters.

Although I never even touch a TV remote these days, I gotta say I like the art style for Be Cool Scooby Doo...Just at a first glance though - I'm missing out on cartoons these days.

To be honest, I was never a fan of 90s cartoons that used a cartoony style with realistic (ish) features, so newer cartoons these days tend to be better fit to my tastes.

...Except TTG...They could have easily gone the Last Airbender route and had the same studio behind the original series chibify the characters and start a miniseries.* Robin looks so hideous in TTG.

*I think they actually made a few shorts for the DC Nation block some time ago.

Hmm...
Not sure yet whether to say that's good or bad.
But, given how many people do not like or take WWE seriously, that could be costly.
(side note, I did kinda used to watch it, briefly...IDK why I even started, either. Let's just not talk about it, k?)

Comedy Central I've never really watched much of.
The only Comedy Central series I've actually ever made an effort to follow was South Park, and I didn't watch it on Comedy Central, either. That said, I can't say anything about the show you have mentioned. Although, funny side note, something that happened in my engineering class when I took that in high school: The drama teacher walked-in, and observed some conversation or whatever between some of my classmates about South Park, and said "South park is a disgusting, disgusting show!" well, guess what kind of tie he was wearing?

Well, I've finally caught-up on MLP Season 4
AND I'M STILL SO FAR BEHIND ON THE SERIES...

I don't even get why I do this to myself.
I joined the fandom probably some time in 2011 or 2012, so I did start-out behind to begin with, but for some reason, I just couldn't/wouldn't make the commitment to keep up with all the episodes as they came-out.

It seems like every time I tel myself I'll do my best to keep up with a show, something either prevents me from doing it, or I forget, or I lose my motivation to do it for some unknown reason.

I think I'll spend the next few weeks or months trying to make-up binge MLP:FiM , Steven Universe, Generator Rex, and Scooby Doo: Mysteries Incorporated. There are honestly many other shows, but right now, these three are the most nagging on me.

It's 3 AM, now, so I should get some sleep.
I'll bring-up the remaining part of what i'd like to say tomorrow.

And as a side note, I watched TTG 40% 40% 20% before finally pushing myself to take care of the last few episodes in MP Season 4. Yeah, that was a pretty good episode.

To be honest, that semi-superhero Scooby Doo comic art appeals to me way more than the coked-out expressions in Be Cool, Scooby-Doo. Be Cool basically looks like a Family Guy cutaway parody. Sure, I can do without Norville Queen's goatee and the tats are a little off-putting (although maybe not out of place for Shaggy? I imagine he would be too afraid of the process hurting, though...), but I still dig that way more.

I never thought to compare be cool scooby doo's art style to family guy's, but... well, I can't possibly argue with that statement, now that I think about it.
