Romancing SaGa 2: Enemies - By Falconpunch
#1
Hello, all, and welcome to my sprite submission thread. This one is dedicated to helping out the RS2 area and filling it with all enemy sprites possible, whether it's from the original or remaster. So, without further ado, I give you...the complete collection of standard enemies in the RS2 remastered version!

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/2...nemies.png (I hope this URL is acceptable, I couldn't find any good image hosting sites without having to sign up or deal with image resizing)

Like I said before, 2 "animated" bosses are missing, due to of being poor quality to rip properly. But, that's okay, as it's got most of the enemies in this game. Bosses not included, of course. I do not have a page icon for this, but I would like to see what you guys can come up with, seeing as though they are all pretty awesome.

I hope this is all acceptable, as I have shown the names of all the enemies, and even sorted them out in each catagory they belong in, with an additional background color to sort of fit the theme.

Any opinions? And, sorry for all the "I hopes", I'm just such a complete newbie to submitting sprites and such, but not visiting the site in general.

Looking good and I guess the bosses can have their own sheet. You can add the sheet to the respective game:
http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/saga2/

Just click on "add sheet" (make sure you're logged in or else you can't see the button).

Thank you. And yes, the bosses will have their own section. I'm also including the bosses in the remaster, of course, although it's not much, but if you'd like to know, click on the spoiler below.

Wait, why is this "remastered"?

Because I got all these sprites from RS2's remastered version, which changes the enemies quite a bit. In the original version, they were limited to SNES' limitations. In this version, most of the changes involve enemy palettes being more vibrant and saturated, and having their shadows under them changed. Perhaps showing you a few videos of enemy fighting in the original could go show you why I called it remastered.

Is this a hack? Remake? We may have to make a unique section for it if it's not from the original game.

No, it's no hack, but it is a remake, from Square that is. It's just of the same game, and pretty much has the same engine. All this pretty much does is improves the look and gameplay of this game, including some new content. Giving it a unique section feels kind of...weird.

Ah, ok. So Square remade their own game for the same system? Interesting.

No, it's an entirely different game - it was remastered for iOS, Android and Vita...
Tsunami Bomb - The Simple Truth
We could run away
Leave behind anything paper
Not knowing where we're going to stay
When there's no Mondays

You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
When I'm in your arms, I feel safe from harm and sorrow too
You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
But most of all, nothing couldn't be solved when I'm with you

There we go. That makes much more sense.

Why is it so hard to say what system it was ripped from? :p

I apologize for the confusion. I just thought I'd help out because nobody has really posted enemy sprites from RS2, whether it's on the original SNES version or not. I can tell it would be kind of hard to rip all the enemies in the original too, since enemies scaling with your level can make finding all enemies much harder. Thankfully, the Maze of Memory can allow us to discover most enemies in the game.

Still glad I can help out, though! ;)

Oh, and I'd thought I'd show this off to you all because why not:

These are the Vampires, as you saw in the picture. On the left, there's the original SNES version that I just ripped from an image online, and on the right shows their remastered version. Pretty cool, no?

I hope you guys find a good place for all my sprite rips from this game, seeing as though you guys don't think my sheet fits in that one particular game area and system. :)
