Mario Party 9

Why are non-Mario characters up there. Anyway, if there was going to be a new Mario Party I'd like it to go back to it's roots:

Difficult yet fun mini-games (MP1, 2 & 3)
Make stars harder to get (MP1, & 2)
1-Player mini-games (MP1)
Donkey Kong playable (MP1, 2, 3 & 4)
Don't make items so easy to obtain (MP2)
Chance Time! (MP1, 2 & 3)
Mini-Game Island/ Coaster (MP1 & 2)
Boards based on characters like Luigi's Engine Room etc. (MP1)
Main story implemented with multiplayer instead of a separate mode (MP1 & 2)
More difficult to unlock things, like having to buy mini-games as well as finding them (MP1 & 2)

New things I'd like to have:

Bowser playable, why not? We can have some new foe steal coins.
Alternate scenarios for the same board, how you get the star is always different.
Tumble is the host again.
Different characters have different stats. Wario is a little better at mini-games that involve strength.
All mini-games have records.
The best of old mini-games return from the previous Mario Party games.

I agree about everything but bowser being playable since I think that they will make a horrible new character.(like how they had McBallyhoo a host)

They should make a "Mario Party, Minigame Maddness!" It would include all the Games from past mario parties and put them into a single disc. And, as Koopaul said, those games should allow character advantages.

If they allowed character advantages on old minigames, it'd ruin the original gameplay.

I voted for all options on the poll, since I enjoy being a jerk.

Anyway: Platform Peril, Hexagon Heat, Panels of Doom. Bring these back and I'll put some faith back into the series.

If they allowed character advantages on old minigames, it'd ruin the original gameplay.

This is the Worst. Mario. Series. EVER!

While we came to the conclusion that the Party genre is not defined well, the Mario Party series is the base idea for it. And it sucks.

I prefered GameInformer's parody of Mario Party 6 (before the actual Mario Part 6 came out): Rainbow Suicide Dreams to the current series.

Wario (powerful character)

Bowser (powerful character)
Bowser Jr. (speedy character)

SUPPORTING
Tumble (hosts the games and gives the stars)
Toad (Item shop)
Toadette (sometimes the item shop will sell Rare items)
Toadsworth (replaces DK's role)
Goomba (Battle Games host)
Koopa Troopa (Koopa Bank)
Boo (can be asked to steal coins)
Shy Guy (hosts the Lottery)
Petey Piranha (replaces Bowser's role)

Party games could easily become better defined if somebody actually had the intent on making something that took the party genre and did something impressive with it.

I guess I'll blog it and leave it at that.

Guys. Mario Party 8 was released two years ago. Usually, there was a Mario Party turned out each year.

Maybe they're just gonna profit off of Mario Party 8. I suppose that game sells well with the little kid/casual family demographic. It's the same reason why they aren't gonna turn out a New Super Mario Bros. 2, or a Nintendogs 2

As far as a MP9 goes as long as they make it like MP's 1-4 then I am set, but if they don't then I won't bother.

But for characters id have to say the four baby characters that made it in to Mario kart wii, Donkey Kong and Rossolina.
