Question Regarding NSFW Tag
#1
Hey there, guys.

I had a question regarding the NSFW tag on sprite sheets.  I seem to no longer be able to tag sheets as NSFW- the option simply does not appear on the page.  Now, I have retroactively gone back and tagged some sheets as NSFW in the past, and I was wondering if perhaps the right to tag as NSFW was revoked due to perceived abuse.  If that's the case, if my privileges are reinstated I promise to no longer retroactively tag sheets as NSFW.

The main reason I am wondering about this is that I am submitting some sheets that are fairly heavily NSFW, and I have attempted to communicate that these sheets SHOULD be tagged as NSFW in the submission notes.  However, I also attempted this notes-based-warning with a couple sheets from my submission of a couple sheets of Demon Hunter for PC which include (albeit very pixelated, and in EGA palette) nude women; these notes were ignored and the sheets currently exist on the site without an NSFW tag despite containing full-frontal female nudity.

The sheets that I'm submitting now are from Galshell, a very body-horror centric shoot-em-up that features monsters that are sometimes basically MADE out of nude women, or feature oddly placed giant breasts.  I think it's fairly obvious that these sheets should be tagged as NSFW, but I am unable to tag them myself.

I guess what I'm getting around to is: is this a site error, or have I had a privilege revoked without this being communicated with me?  Is there any way I can ensure that a sheet that I submit is tagged as NSFW even with this apparent issue without spamming comments or pestering mods with PMs?  Because I would really, really rather not resort to comment spams or annoying PMs.

Thanks,

The option doesn't appear in the Submit Revision page?
Doofenshmirtz: This is a little bit awkward but have you seen my escape jet keys? (Perry nods) What, you have? Well that's great! So where are they? (Perry looks away) You won't tell me? Is this because you don't speak or are you just being a jerk?

When I attempt to submit a revision, this is all I get:

The only thing I changed aside from cropping is that I censored the aforementioned nudity in the screenshot.

Perhaps I'm missing something?

Edit: Given your response I'm assuming that this might be a site error, so I'll hold back on submitting the Galshell 2 sprites that I have ready until the issue is resolved.

No, it's nothing like that. The short version is that too many people were marking things NSFW when they weren't and continually trying to edit Undertale, etc sheets as being NSFW for no reason, so we figured the staff was better suited to decide what is/isn't NSFW

This is not a site error. The feature was removed from all normal members due to it constantly being misused. For weeks, people were submitting revisions and new content improperly marking things as NSFW (despite numerous wording changes to make it more obvious what that checkbox was for) and it was creating extra work for the staff so we decided to limit that feature to those with instant approval and up.

For what it's worth, your revisions were not among those being submitted incorrectly and if you had a submission note ignored, it's likely because the staff member who reviewed it didn't think it was NSFW enough to warrant the tag. Bringing attention to old submissions that aren't marked yet is still appreciated and, while not as direct any more, can be done via the errors thread.

Alright, that makes a ton of sense. I'm sure that I would have caught that if I frequented the forums more often, heh. Thanks for the responses and I suppose I'll continue to submit with the NSFW warning notes attached.

I see that the Galshell sheets I submitted were properly tagged, so the Demon Hunter sheets must have been a fluke. Thanks again for clearing up the confusion.

For what it's worth, I worked last summer with a company that teaches kids computer skills in a fun, interactive context (creating video games with GameMaker, modding Minecraft, etc). Spriter's Resource was one of the sites we used in-class, so properly tagged sheets would be helpful for their sake at the very least!

Yeah, I also refer kids that I tutor to this site for when they're learning game design or programming and so on, so I've pretty vigilant about making sure sheets with nudity get tagged.  I'm glad that the site has the system so that it can also include sprites that would otherwise be dismissed (games like Galshell have such weird and interesting graphics I'd hate to not be able to archive them just because of the odd breast) while also making sure that the site still puts up at least some kind of barrier between children and inappropriate content.
