yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet im makin this topic here because it seems like Dazz forgot to make it in the news section (and let's be real who looks there anyway)

it's important to discuss this here of all places because there's going to be a TSR/DYKG panel at 2am on Saturday morning, but Dazz and Petie are celebrities now so they are probably too busy to hang out with me )': so I was hoping I could scare up some other VGR users and he'll hang out with us instead of those DYKG dweebos

it's this Thursday to Sunday at the Gaylord National Resort in National Harbor, Maryland (which is a 20 minute drive from DC)

oh yeah, my bucket list for MAG 2017:

- say hi to Dazz
- say hi to Petie
- hang out with both separately. (I have been waiting YEARS for this)
* enjoy a cheeky Nando's with Dazz (at minimum)
* actually shoot the shit one-on-one with Dazz for at least 30 minutes (and this can be done while playing video games)
* buy Petie a drink (ur choice cowboy) as an appreciation for keeping the site and servers running and tell him that I deep down think he's a pretty cool dude despite the shit I give him
* Talk about the forum a little with both, maybe throw shade at users behind their back but assure them that it's neither of their faults, it's just the ebb and flow given the advent of social media
* buy both a second drink, wait until they down it, then ask to be mod and archive their reaction
- say hello to more VGR people
- buy Sesame Street ABC & 123
- get David Wise to sign a DKC gam and Sesame Street ABC & 123, then tell Koopaul all about it
** including the part where I kiss David Wise's ring and refer to him as "Your Excellency, Who Hath Elegantly and Singlehandedly Composed Stickerbrush Symphony"
- flick a booger in the DYKG panel from the back of the room and see if it will hit Dazz or Petie
* will tweet about it if I succeed
- give Mighty Jetters, JazzGW, or Shade a big hug and a smooch on the cheek (and also buy them dinner, Lyft service may or may be not included) if they show up in person
* Basically I want to take you out on a weird geeky friend-date...b-b-but no one has to kn-know, baka !!
- leave MAG with a backlit GBC
- reunite with Random at NPC Collective, shake his hand and tell him how much I enjoy his discography, buy no less than three physical albums, maybe buy him a drink

p.s. can I sit on the panel Dazz? I promise I won't say anything bad I just wanna sit in the front of the room can you at least save me a front row seat next to Greg

* it's also worth noting that MAGFest used to sell single-day passes to attend the convention. i don't know if that's going to happen this year due to the increased ticket sales but if they do it's v. likely you'll only have to pay like...half.

PaX is probably the best excuse as it's likely less waiting in weeby lines (AnimeExpo). i still have yet to go but i'm going to wear something sanitary (like my lucina cosplay) so i don't get the PaXPoX

but seriously i LOVE magfest. there are SO many games even just watching people play them is cool enough. they have all those classic JP machines and iirc they also have air hockey and pinball machines (an entire giant room dedicated to them last i was there).

as for the panels, i sadly missed out on a lot of them cuz I was too busy playing the games...who can blame me, lol. but so many cool people visit from what i've heard from friends and i really regret not going to the panels (i went 2014 and 2015, then i moved).

and people complain about the colossus roar but to be honest i've only heard them like five times over the weekend so it's not such a big deal to me.

here's what happened.

* actually shoot the shit one-on-one with Dazz for at least 30 minutes (and this can be done while playing video games) I kinda did? at a table? we hung out for a good amount of time
* buy Petie a drink (ur choice cowboy) as an appreciation for keeping the site and servers running and tell him that I deep down think he's a pretty cool dude despite the shit I give him

- say hello to more VGR people (there were none, wtf - but i did see DYKG's video editor Louis, and a few users from VGRcraft)
- buy Sesame Street 123 & ABC (just got 123, that's what was important)

when he saw Sesame Street though he held it out in front of him and said "Wow, this really takes me back to my early days at Rare", which when these things happen during autograph sessions really brightens my day because it brightens theirs

- flick a booger in the DYKG panel from the back of the room and see if it will hit Dazz or Petie (did not succeed. there is NO PHYSICAL WAY i could have flicked a booger from the back of the cherry blossom ballroom)
- give Mighty Jetters, JazzGW, or Shade a big hug and a smooch on the cheek (and also buy them dinner, Lyft service may or may be not included) if they show up in person (none of you showed up wtf. However MJ AND Shade both made cameos in the TSR/DYKG panel)
- leave MAG with a backlit GBC (not a single seller sold one, which is surprising. you'd figure with the love for chiptune? but no! not even)
- reunite with Random at NPC Collective, shake his hand and tell him how much I enjoy his discography buy no less than three physical albums, maybe buy him a drink (I bought 2 albums because there were only two at the table. Both got signed)

and here's some other things i did:

- watched half of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure part 4 (Diamond is Unbreakable) and HOLY shit it's REALLY GOOD
- my Lyft driver nearly fucking killed me during rush hour on the ride in
- used my twitter pretty regularly during the con. i hope to use it more often, it was a lot of fun tweeting!!
- got diarrhea
- bought Puyo Puyo Tetris for PS4 at 3 am
- hit level 14 in Duck Hunt. I didn't know I was that good at Duck Hunt. shit
- was a cool cat makin' waves all over town: reunited with my highschool sweetheart, Dance Maniax and played Heaven is a '57 metallic gray (gimmix) on "WILD" all 3 rounds during two separate playthroughs.

* christ i love using my knees on songs (i also didn't say whether i was in the same shape i was then)
- bought Utacchi! for the DS on eBay, then saw the goddamn game at a booth the next day for double what I paid for it
- got really great clothing suggestions, currently contemplating buying some of these because they were Damn Cool
- played so much Pop'n Music I bruised my hands, what the hell
- went from level 5 to 15 in Pop'n. I don't have the motor skills to do Ex level stuff. Maybe someday
- played co-op DKC2 with another human being
- finally played Jubeat
- saw too many team skull members at once
- played Goof Troop more than any other game at the con...and that was in my hotel room

all in all? it was ok, I'm debating between this or Too Many Games in Philadelphia, but if it means more pals and more hanging out, maybe I'll do MAG next year if getting a hotel isn't such a fucking nightmare

4) favorite DYKG trivia? (related, since it involved ripping) (luis: the extremely vulgar language found in the PC version of atomic bomberman. favorite quote: "I'M SO FUCKING PROUD OF YA, I COULD JUST SHIT!")
(koshnote: it's so fun hearing basically Buster Bunny scream "time for a FUCKING DIRT NAP you SHIT FUCK")
5) favorite wendy's meal? (luis said "I like to enjoy a Baconator™ from my local Wendy's, where Quality Is Their Recipe©")

Seriously though, I had every intention of going but the world decided to snow a ton two days before, and I'm not risking death just to meet a few of you nerds, gosh, jeez, totally wouldn't do that.
