Definition of 'request'

I know that there is the rule about not using the comment section for making requests, so I'm curious about what you define as 'making a request'.

The reason I'm asking is because on one of the games I was looking at, one of the sprite sheets was taken down, so I was wanting to ask what happened with it.

So that means asking 'What happened to {sprite sheet}?' is fine?

Yeah that's fine. If it was on the site at one point and you're simply asking about what happened to it or why it was taken down, that isn't considered a request.
