Upgraded and did some playing around with the structure of the Gumball Machine Bonus Stage sheet from page one. Taking Dolphman's edit into mind and looking through the VDP, I crossed over palettes to mock up a full version of the blue ball without a letter from the background section. If it's too garish, I can remove it prior to submission.

While VDP-diving, I also found that missing S-ball brighter palette, so I could finally include it with the sheet; it's also in the Glowing Spheres' VDP information, so when I get around to that revitalised sheet, it'll be there too. On the subject of the S-ball, it works differently in the machine when compared to the other item balls; this is why there are multiple versions of the ball piles with or without it - having it standalone behind glass would just make it awkwardly float, so I didn't include that variation.

I took the spring bounce sprite from a random up-spring in Angel Island Zone, since it was quicker to get it that way as trying within the Bonus Stage itself was difficult to achieve with the bounce not showing on screen in time before the blocks collapse off-screen.

Also, a fixed Data Select & Menus sheet, as I realised that I still had a spacing block on the sheet after uploading.

I just tried to post this update, but somehow 80% of it was missing when it got put in the thread. Here we go again.

Updates:
Raw palette-only updates for the Competition Menus & Results and 0408 Prototype Glowing Spheres sheets, with re-organisation, corner-pieces, and, for the latter, construction notes.

Knuckles the Echidna sheet is being revitalised to a raw palette, and the prototype underwater palettes are incorporated.
Chaos, Super & Master Emerald sheet in progress with a raw palette and far less notes than before, but has been stalled until I can find a particular Emerald palette I have no idea how I was able to come across. Missing frames from a fully-active Master Emerald being used to charge Mecha Sonic are on the sheet.

The update's Piece de Resistance: Glowing Spheres sheet.

1. Raw palette.
2. All 100 frames of the "pillars" added to the sheet.
3. Flipped objects removed to save space.
4. Loop information included for the walls.
5. Construction information will be added to the empty box later on.

6. 17 of 800 "wall" frames added in 192x32 sized tiles. It will take time to finish this off, but I'll keep a counter at the top of my future posts (after responses) in this thread, up until the point of its completion, of how much closer to the 800 mark the tile amount has progressed. I expect the final sheet to be closer to around 8000 pixels in height to accommodate all the frames.

Glowing Sphere Wall Progress: 33/800.

New stuff!

An in-progress sheet of Angel Island in several forms - floatie, glowie, title screen and rising from the ocean (Sonic 3 Title Screen and glowie so far). The Sonic 3 title screen has 8 background animation frames. Working on this led me to...

A more complete Sonic 3/S3K title screen. Complete animation for the Tornado and fuller background frames of those on the Angel Island sheet. Shall submit later.

An Animal Friends sheet is in progress, accounting for the various palettes. Will post later.

Glowing Sphere Wall Progress: 86/800.

I've been caught up with other things the past couple of days, and when doing project work, it was mostly focused on the Emeralds and trying to organise and add notes. This became far too lengthy in time, and when I couldn't organise the spaces into position in a decent way, I abandoned the notes and went plain. So here's the list of the different kinds of Emeralds:

Chaos Emeralds, left to right and then down:
Data Select/Angel Island
Hidden Palace
Sonic 3 Bad End
Special Stage Score Tally
Same but using debug when the Master Emerald is stolen, with all seven Chaos Emeralds, and stepping onto where the Master once was and completing the Special Stage.

Thank you!  Smile  I know, right? I theorised the existence of some, while having played games with a couple of the others. At the least, I didn't expect the Red and Light Blue Emeralds (and Orange, for that matter) to have different palettes in the Sonic 3 Special Stages.

I had to build the red Master Emerald from the Hidden Palace lamps, the only way I could observe it was through ORKAL's glitches videos, which aren't the best quality - once I saw it change color there, it had to be a palette in the area, and the orbs in the Emerald shrine area were a great help with that.

The prototype Super Tails and Hyper Sonic Emeralds were a (thankfully accurate) theory I had to resolve due to how the Blue Emerald needs to be changed the most to accommodate other palettes. Imagine if Super Mecha Sonic or Werehog Sonic were in its presence. It's easy to guess what the Blue Emerald would look like with Super Knuckles, or Super Tails' actual palette (it uses his Flicky friends' glow, since Super Sonic's palettes in the 0517 prototype are Hyper Sonic's), but it's not possible to get those in-game be it prototype or released.

Glowing Spheres wall progress: 129/800.

Knuckles sheet revitalisation progress: Palettes. Lots and lots of palettes. I don't even know if I've got them all yet.

Without your superior knowledge, I have the feeling that we will never figure out what these differently coloured emeralds on the sheet mean. It looks like all stones of a different palette are not always in one row, stones with another palette are right next to other rows... to be honest, it is a little bit chaotic.

I can help you organizing them. Can you put some marks like x2, x6, etc. right to the side of each row? Then I could add the descriptions from your earlier post. I will then upload the finished sheet here and you can correct things if there are mistakes.

I'd appreciate that, Davy, thank you. Smile  I've divided up the subsections as accurately as possible to align with the notes above. It should make some sort of sense; I left Special Stage alone since that's quite obvious.

- I have the feeling that some of them belong to Sonic OR Knuckles, not both. The first frame had its own row, so I'm not sure about that one either.

- Two rows combined, one row had just one frame so I'm not sure what to think about this. Also not sure if "Sonic & Knuckles" or "Sonic or Knuckles" or "None of them".

Correct; I had them in two rows to keep them confined to a common space. But yes, they're distant

Not sure what Alternate Red is, they look pretty green to me. As for who they belong to - both; it depends on your Emerald collection - Chaos Emeralds but no Super Emeralds? Not glowing. All Super Emeralds? Glowing.

Still confused about Alternate Red, but correct. I separated them similar to the distant ones above them, keeping them near due to their similarity. They also work based on Emerald collection.

I should've paid more attention to the post and taken my time, those lower two were remarked with tildes.

Appears in the Sonic Ending and Knuckles Sky Sanctuary when none of the Chaos or Super Emeralds, or only all of the Chaos Emeralds (not yet deposited to the Hidden Palace) have been collected. "No (Chaos/Super) Emeralds collected in Sonic's Ending/Knuckles' Sky Sanctuary"

0408 and 0517 Prototype - entering a Bonus Stage in the Hidden Palace checkpoint somehow affects the chartreuse palette in Hidden Palace, including the dark green in parts of the Emerald, making it purple. "Bonus Stage affected Master Emerald (Prototype)"
