[TUTORIAL] How to rip Miitomo models
#1
3D Modelling
After months of trying, I finally managed to rip Mii's from Miitomo, as you can see here.

I submitted the tutorial here. It might be hard to understand because it's my first tutorial I wrote and nobody cares about Mii's.

TIP:
In Miitomo, you can go to the shop and choose the clothing to rip, without having to buy them (because they're overpriced). You can also rip all the colors the clothings have to offer. But for the Mii drop clothings, you'll have to look for a Mii wearing it. If the Mii is shown with this clothing in 3D, you can rip it. To get all the colors of a Mii Drop outfit, you may need to extract the textures with PowerVR.

I found out that the Mii is made of two main parts: The head and body. And these two parts are made of multiple meshes. It can all be ripped. This is a great start to rip the clothings, hats and so on.

The Mii's face is a single texture containing the eyes, mouth, eyebrows and beard. So, each Mii has it's unique texture for their faces and expressions.

I hope this helps!  Wink

Hello AtomicLugia,

I've recently been reading all your threads about your adventures of mii ripping and, I must say, I'm impressed with the amount of time and effort you put into this. Great work! I too look forward to using my miis for my artwork and I'm glad you and others have taken the time to figure out how to do that and share it with the world.

I followed your Mii Porting Guide but couldn't get Nox 6.0.9 to run on my computer (the Nox player you recommended). It keeps showing some error during installation saying it didn't start up properly and to click okay to quit. (I wonder if Nox 6.0.9 doesn't work on Windows 11.)

I can play Miitomo on Nox 7.0.5.7 but not on Bluestacks or Leapdroid. After applying the Kaeru patches and launching Miitomo on either emulator, it flashes white and returns to the home screen and, as you probably already know, Renderdoc isn't working with later versions of Nox, like mine.

I've also downloaded the Mii Assets you provided but Ohana3DS Rebirth keeps showing me some "Unhandled exception" error that doesn't allow me to even see the Tomodachi Life models (or any model at all.)

I've tried other things but still can't get my miis so I'm stuck at this point.

Any suggestions you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again for your efforts to give the people the ability to use their miis beyond the games they appear in.

P.S. Are you aware of the "PVR-Model-Extractor" on github? Claims to convert .pod models to .gltf format. I wonder...
