I'm trying to make a C64 sprite sheet based on Ami from Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi. I got a single frame, but I don't know if this is a very good look for C64. I did use a sprite maker designed to make C64 sprites (I want to make a fan game of Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi on the Commodore 64). I mean it just looks off to me, but I'm no expert.

This is meant to be the one on the left, yes?
I'm admittedly unfamiliar with pallet limitations in general, but part of the problem is likely the fact that their dresses aren't even remotely close to matching colors.

Here, taking a lesson from The Great Giana Sisters, I used 3 of the C64's 8 hardware sprites to make 1 character graphic.

Edit: Fixed a missing pixel (this mode has double wide pixels).

And the original sprite files.

Her walking animation and the single frame of the pose for the front and back are two separate pieces of animation, I just combined all the animation into one gif for easy viewing.
