Crash Bandicoot Nsane Trilogy Model Ripping Help
#1
Hi guys, new to this forum. So I finally managed to obtain the files from the PS4 Crash Nsane Trilogy game. They are all in .pak files but I cant find a unpacker that will work for this game. I tried 7zip but the files are encrypted so I'm need someone's assistance in decrypting the files. I have the files but the model files take up 23gb and don't know where to upload it.

The ps4 Crash Nsane Trilogy game pkg is out. You can then extract the game data using the first steps from here:https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxvmodding/comments/7ygrv4/how_to_access_all_the_models/

Here are 2 sample uploads of the .pak files:

The only lead I could find was on the ZenHax forum. There's aluigi's QuickBMS script for "Marvel Ultimate Alliance", a game that was also developed by Vicarious Visions.
The game was released in 2006, but the script is able to extract models (possibly with UVs) from the .PAK archives in the Xbox version of "Skylanders: Swap Force", released in 2013.
There's also a plugin for Noesis that allows it to read the textures from both games, or at least the Xbox version.

Thank you for the reply. A step in the right direction because the the bms script actually works. The files are mostly in .igz format but none of the noesis plugins works for reading the files (both textures and models).

I've actually been meaning to get at the models from this game for a while, so I'll see what I can do about writing a MaxScript.

Ok thanks. Not model related but here is some sample music found. Just need to change the extension to .mp3 or .wav and it works.

I'd recommend .wav only, myself. MP3's not exactly condusive to seamless looping.

Haven't tried the crash.pak yet. The script is not made for this game but marvel ultimate alliance so that may be the case.

Bonus? More like it's a necessity for RandomTBush's standards. Cute

But yeah, didn't even need to wait for the potential PC and/or Nintendo Switch release for this one! Big Grin

I was thinking that may release it on pc or switch but there is no guarantee. So putting it out there that this game can now be decrypted makes progress go smoother even if they release another version.

That's pretty good.
I'm wondering whether Crash's model uses a fuzz shader, or if it's just layers of transparent static. Hopefully the latter.
