Klonoa 2 Textures?
#16
Also when you finish with klonoa, can you send him back my way? Once the texuters are applied and stuff I'm gonna put a vertex weild modifier and a smoothing modifier on him to make it look nice and polished up.

The textures for Klonoa are uploaded to the resource but I can extract them separately if you need to, sure. Cute

Sorry to double post again, But I got all of Klonoa's textures right here, including the refmap which I believe is used on the wind ring. However I wasn't sure if I did get the wind ring as most textures seem to belong to Klonoa himself, granted there are simple solid color textures that I think may or may not be used for the ring. But just in case, I also ripped the materials from the wind ring used in the introduction.

Thanks, he's the one im going to try and get done first since he will take awhile, uving the ears is a pain sometimes tbh xD but im honestly happy that i've finally made decent progress on ripping the models, ill probably go back and pull klonoa via ninja ripper so he has a proper looking zipper and ring. I'm also going to try and pull his board out of the game, i am actually going to convert a completed save to a file that loads on pcsx 2, so ill be able to rip the king of sorrow too, i can try to dump his textures myself using tex mod or something. Also i was wondering if you can dump the other 3 main characters textures for me? im working on lolo right now but the textures i got are a pain to work with, also, may i ask what editing software you use to fix the textures transparency with? i tried gimp but it takes a really long time to start up.

I use GIMP, Although if you are having trouble yourself you can lend me the textures and I can fix them for you on the spot.

EDIT: Nevermind, I can get them no problem. Cute

alright if i do need help with them ill let you know, im now pulling files out of another game so im gonna be busy xD but that can always wait seeing as those models have uv's intact and working rigs, its just the matter of getting them all pulled out of a program to view unity files in. which takes a long time.

Here's Lolo's basic textures, ripped from the first cutscene with her. Pretty basic stuff.

So ive also been looking into the games hex data and i put a little something together, klonoa 2 was also planned for gamecube but was called off for its release on it before the game came out, since they were making gamecube models most likely which can use a bch format iirc, i did some searching in the games hex data and i saw it appear multiple times, so im thinking its possible the character models use the Bch format, but i can't be entirely sure until i look into it more. If only instead of that bms script that extracts the raw data files, if only we had the knoweldge of how the file data works could be try to pull the models out, i have come to the conclusion that the game uses .gim files for textures i think. but the program that pulls gim files and gmo files from psp games and so forth doesn't detect them as valid from the looks of it.

Very interesting. I never really knew what the texture format could be but then again that’s mostly due to me opening up several PS2 games raw (Pac-Man World 2 and 3) and getting unsearchable image formats (PMI for PMW2 and a literal unnamed extension type for PMW3)

LOOK AT THIS! HE LOOKS SO BEAUTIFUL (Well not completely yet)! *yes i ripped him* his uv's are shockingly well intact, except for the body and face ones, those require a bit of fixing and clean up.  [Image: attachment.php?aid=8445] and tbh if pcw2 models are uncrackable im pretty sure whatever they used to hide the file type for them was also used on this game, i was tempted to get ahold of the guy who made the bms to pull the raw data and ask him how the fuck it even works, but judging by the last time someone asked him that i wont get much, or at least if he can give us a bms script to extract said models.....in their proper file type

Sweet summer child.
BMS is generally, a mess when it comes to ripping models. You're better working with Noesis python scripts, or 3DSMax Maxscripts.
Also, great job on getting the King of Sorrow ripped! Been waiting for that for ages.

i can't seem to find any noesis scripts that work for this game, and i dont mind ripping these the screenshot way but using 3ds max is such a pain sometimes, it always seems to freeze on me and just randomly close itself so i can easily lose my progress unexpectedly, which makes me have to save like every 3 minutes...if only we could crack this games format once and for all.

You could always learn how to write a Noesis script. No clue how, but I'm sure there's guides on how to do it. Hell, some scripts take care of the texture extraction as well.
