How can I use Ninja Ripper with Dolphin
#1
I've been wondering how I could rip models from Dolphin using Ninja Ripper, I know it's possible but I can't figure it out.
Help is defiantly appreciated.
I usually rip models from obscure licensed games.

Allow me to help you out with that, mi amigo.

When you activate Ninja Ripper (depending on which version you are using), you need to use it with Dolphin Emulator so you can rip the models of a specific game you're playing.

Once that's up, you can rip either models or textures of the game. Use F11 for all models and textures, F9 for Textures, and so on. When you rip your models, Ninja Ripper will create folder somewhere on your laptop.

Unfortunately, you might need Autodesk 3DS Max to test out your ripped models because they're all in .rip format files which requires a specific script for 3DS Max to work with. Also, Noesis is a good tool to use to get all the meshes of your required model you want to rip from the game.

I had tested this myself on many games like Avatar The Last Airbender, The Burning Earth and Into the Inferno. Of course once ripped, the models are automatically in A-Pose or T-Pose.

I hope my advice works out for you. From one model ripper to another.

Excuse me sir, but which version of dolphin and configs you use? because I actually tried once and the models came as they were in-game instead of T/A-pose as you described

it just... kind of works, there's no real configuration in my experience and some games will rip with a t-pose and others won't

there's also a blender plugin in the newest version on gamebanana

Well I don't know what program you're using because I tried using Ninja Ripper with Dolphin 4.0 and came out with jack diddly squat.

Has anyone else run into a issue where it says 'state not found' after trying to rip using any of the methods in ninja ripper?

I recently tried to rip models from the Flushed Away game, and they don't show up in T pose. Do you have any idea how to fix that?

I was just having trouble with that recently, "state not found" means dolphin is trying to find a save state and actually doesn't have anything to do with ninja ripper. You need to change what hot key Dolphin uses for save states. In order to do that open Dolphin, go to the menu bar, Select options, > HotKey Settings, and then you should be able to change it.

Do you know how to fix the issue where all you get is a log file and no .rip files or textures when you click F11?

Make sure that you have Ninja Ripper set to the same DirectX as you are using in Dolphin. Also I have found Ninja Ripper can work better with older versions of Dolphin that have DirectX 9.

You know I had this same problem, but I couldn't recreate what ever was causing it. I know that the log file is created when you first start Ninja ripper,  so its probably failing to rip somehow. Maybe your F11 key is already being used for something and you need to adjust that in Ninja ripper's settings?

I think this is the Ninja Ripper .rip import add-on I use for Blender 2.78/2.79 https://github.com/Dummiesman/RipImport This one may work for Blender 2.80+ https://github.com/xpawelsky/RipImport If those don't work I know there is .rip convert plug-in for Noesis
