I really want to make a game but I have no idea where to start at. What program should I use?
I also want to start hacking mario world or mario 64.

Depends on whether you want to make a 2-D game or a 3-D game.
I'm emotionally feeling a bit better now. I'm sorry to everyone I hurt and/or annoyed by my actions and reactions when I first joined this site.

I generally use Construct 2. It's limited, but since it uses an event system rather than programming, it's easier to visualize what's going on--and less likely for typos to cause major problems.
