Chaos Emerald rebirth? What a nice generic name like that to go with the game, plus the plot is off.

Somewhat a few people here in this topic's first page hated the story I made up, so I'm making a new story from scratch from now on and the fangame will not be awesome without the "WEREHOG" character and Chip. They're purists. I hate them all! >=(
This is my first attempt on making a GOOD Sonic fangame but it failed thanks to two to three people telling me the storyline doesn't make sense.

Though I feel that some people could have given more constructive criticism (similar to the sprite discussion), your acting childish over, "my fan game is ruined because people don't like the story" which means that if you can't take people hating part of the game and wanting you to improve/change it your fan game is ruined because of you not accepting that some parts of your initial idea are not liked, so you have no one to blame bar yourself if the game is canned because people didn't like the story or parts of the game.
Also what I have learned from making fan games and such is never make a topic about the game until it is actually in progress past. I mean a couple stages done or so and then make a topic because most games fail because people can't get past the first stage without becoming bored. And there are no rules, but much like any fan game forum, its not best to make a topic without screen-shots or proof, but you can't be blamed since theres no rules on this part of the forum *hint hint*

There. I edited the storyline info on the first post of this thread's first page. Happy now?
I'm gonna continue making the demo any try to get some screenshots of the game for proof. Leave me alone you purists.

If you want to be left alone, why did you post your project here in the first place?
01-13-2009, 09:31 PM
That would be a request, and those aren't allowed here. Sorry to burst your bubble.

It's because I have the reason I wanted to post my important project that is still in progress.

Cesar and Sol. Respond to my previous post from four and a half days ago please.

Wait, I don't understand, are you telling Cesar that the reason you posted your project here was because you had a reason for posting your project here?
Secondly, uh, what do you want me to respond to? You originally said your reason for posting the project here was to recruit spriters. That lead to my only input into this thread, to say that asking people to sprite for your own personal projects isn't allowed on this board, after which you deleted your original post. There isn't really anything for me to say, as far as I know. Unless you mean your comment about PMing someone, which I assume just means that you'll ask people to sprite for you through the private messaging system. (Which probably won't yield results; people don't join these forums to find work, much less work on fangames for which they won't get paid.)
Well, SC, even if it's important to you, I see no reason to post your project here if you can't even take the criticism. When you post something in a forum, the people will think you posted to see what the people thinks about it, and if the people tell you your project suck (I'm not saying it does, 'cause I didn't read the first post completely), you have to accept it, not be mad about it and tell them to leave you alone, after all, you wouldn't like if nobody posted to tell their opinions, would you? ' So you're saying I have to is accept the loss of my project when people telling me it's terrible? I guess I wouldn't do that for their opinions. I just don't want to let my first fangame go to waste because of the new rule here. And I continued making the demo version that's in progress now.

' No, I'm not saying that. I'm saying that you should accept the criticism and change it so it can look better and don't be complaining so much. Look, let's say you finished the game the way it is, when you posted it, people would tell you it's terrible because of this and that. If you make it look better in the beginning, it will look better when it's finished. Just saying that =P |
