I personally don't have ripping experience but quite a few of my friends do and are curious about this.
How come Luigi's Mansion 3 models can't have their rig ripped? Everything else goes fine like mesh and textures. This is the only game I've seen had this issue, and I was hoping someone would possibly have input on this. Thanks!
The reason why Luigi's Mansion 3 doesn't export with rigging is because it's a proprietary format (and therefore not BFRES like most other Nintendo-made Switch games), and as such only has partial support in Switch Toolbox.

Is Switch Toolbox the only ripping tool there is, or is there a theoretical program that could read the LM3 files properly?
Thanks for the answer tho

Afaik the one who did the heavy lifting for the formats used by Next Level Games is
https://github.com/TheFearsomeDzeraora
They did some work on LM2 and apparently have a repo for LM3 too but it seems to be private. The Switch Toolbox used their research to add basic support for LM3

So yeah looks like they "only" figured out models and textures for now. I don't know if they plan to do more. If nobody works on the game I plan to reverse skeletons/animations at some point but it won't be before months, already have lots to do.
