An overview is this:

1. It looks more like a deformed monkey with pincers/scissors for hands. I wish I could be sarcastic when I say that but that's all I see.
2. It doesn't fit the style or color system.
3. Here's a Google Image search of Metal Knuckles.
4. Stay patient. I've noted in another thread for that person to take their time, and I repeat that here. Don't rush ahead, inspect the quality and compare it to the official material - if something looks wrong, fix it, or post it here for pointers.

1. LOLZ, deformed monkey with scissors XD (sorry, I find that funny for some reason)
2. Actually, it fits the Pokemon Yellow style: https://www.spriters-resource.com/game_b...heet/8788/
3. Oh, I see, the claws are smaller, thanks.
4. I've also compared it to Mewtwo as I was doing it, I'll do it again later.

Welp, I'm back, I made a mistake in the styles, I thought Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow were the same thing, it's not WHOOPS! I looked at a Mewtwo sprite from Pokemon Yellow for a reference, and used the metal knuckles pictures as a reference, as well as that, I improved shading, fixed the claws, fixed an arm, fixed the fake Knuckles-like hair, and fixed the eyes. I hope it's good now! Smile

Yeah, Yellow was way different than Red, Blue, and Green style wise. In Yellow the Pokemon looked normal, in Red, Blue, and Green they were basically all just terrifying blobs...

As for your sprite I'd still play around with the nose a little bit. I can see what you are going for, but it's coming off as more of a rhino horn than a pointy nose in my mind. I'd also remove the black line separating the head and the hair. The line kind of makes it look like he's wearing a jester hat rather than the hair just being a continuation of the head.

Thanks man, I think removing the black line does make it look better. I'll see if I can make the nose better before I put it up on the forums again

I'm back, I fixed the muzzle a little bit, improved and fixed the lighting and shading, I took away the black line that was there, and fixed the nose a little bit (thanks Spriter Theo)

(sorry if I keep getting annoying about posting it every hour or two, there's really not much to edit :P)

Looking good! I'd say maybe pull back the bottom part of the muzzle (snout?) a little bit while keeping the nose where it is. And, at the risk of sounding like a hypocrite, I'm wondering if just a little bit of a black line would help accentuate the hair (I guess they'd technically be quills huh?). Like maybe try an arc connecting the muzzle to the top of the eye (the one on our right/his left).

Update: Didn't fix much, but I think the eyes look better and the hair looks better as well. (thanks spriter theo!)

Not in the slightest.

To begin with, the palette doesn't fit. After some looking into what the #-bit palette is for the Game Boy Color, I found that it adheres to the 15-bit palette. That is, any of 32768 colors (but I don't believe for a second that you need that many for a specific game's style). The best way to formulate them is RGB values being in multiples in 8, up to a roof of 248 - you have it close, but 247 is incorrect. A more detailed explanation of GBC palettes can be found here

The muzzle feels stretched. MK isn't a perfect copy of Knuckles but its muzzle doesn't reach out that far. The nose could do with a pixel "row" being stripped off its nose and the nose being more notably an extension to the muzzle than a tacked on entity.

The dreadlocks don't have bells, I suggest reducing the yellow parts at the ends of the dreadlocks and making them white. While you're at it, inspect any and all official material you can find to get a better perspective on the dreadlocks.

Take the closer pupil away from the farther one, and put an extra pixel or two in between the eyes to link up with the muzzle. It doesn't follow the Sonic style of mono-eye. A slight adjustment to the shape of the black sclera for the closer eye wouldn't go a miss, either.

The legs need to be thinner, and while the "socks" could be reduced, they still protrude a little the closer to the feet they are. And on the topic of feet, reduce their size and make them look closer to Knuckles' shoes like MK has instead of Sideshow Bob's shoes.

My biggest issue though is with the arms. Besides obviously recommending to looking at any and all relevant official material for the arms, maybe give them new positions. I'm not sure what MK is doing with its right arm, but I can't see the left arm except for the hand.

1. Then what's this then? https://www.spriters-resource.com/game_b...heet/8788/ (look at mewtwo, and compare the colors of him and metal knuckles and you'll see that the colors are GBC colors, so yes, the palette DOES fit)

2. I fixed the muzzle

3. I'm aware the dreadlocks (thank you for finding the word I was looking for) don't have bells, it's difficult to draw metal knuckles

4. But when I do, he looks like a derpy dunce-bot

5. I fixed his stupid legs, and fixed his stupid shoes

6. his arms are doing this (clearly a not so noticeable, and recognized) pose:

7. And here it is:

In relation to point 5, if you're going to take on a snide attitude in response to critique and suggestions, I'll be less inclined to offer any in future.

The palette used on the sheet is overall incorrect; I'm not sure where they were sourced from but the Pokemon sprites have their RGB values off by one. Not a bad difference, but it's still present. Comparatively, the 32X, SNES, GBA and DS (2D output) all rely on 15-bit much like the GBC, and their palettes adhere to the values being in multiples of 8, or should for accuracy purposes (older sheets can tend to have differences).

It's a cartoon character, and a robot at that. It wouldn't be the worst eye effect in the history of spriting.

Still, you're getting closer. Keep comparing to any screenshots you can find of the lad and you'll get there.
