BRRES Viewer giving "Not a valid BRRES file" error
#1
Hi, I've ran into a bit of a problem. When I was using BRRES Viewer and trying to open my file it gave me an error saying "Error: not a valid BRRES file".
I am confused why it gave me this error as the file I tried to open was perfectly fine and I am not sure if it is corrupted or I did something wrong. I've tried all versions that I could find online but it would give the same error.

Try opening your .brres file with BrawlBox, see if that helps. It doesn't support certain less-common filetypes, but the latest BrawlBox is more modern than the latest brresviewer.

Also maybe open it in Notepad or a hex editor and confirming that the first four letters are "bres"; if it's actually "serb", your flie is of the wrong endian-ness and I don't think there's an easy way to fix that.
