What's the story behind your avatar?

Just remember to watch your step since a Zoroark can disguise itself as anyone and anything.

Made the avatar back when I was still courting (online) with a particular Star Fox fangirl. Kept the avatar even after we broke up. Never bothered to change it
Always liked the fierce version of him more.

For me, I just like Dragonball and the scene where Muten-Roshi blows up the moon. It also blends with my user title.

Just my childhood, my avatar is Seto Kaiba from the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series. I love him so much, he's a savage.

Was kind of needing the excuse to change it.
So, feast your eyes on Mr. Fierce!!

It's been a good while since I've found a new game/anime series that I really enjoyed and completed all the way through. So when I joined I didn't think too hard about what my avatar should be, and it stuck. Not the deepest reason for sure but that's the backstory with this one, haha. I hope that's an alright explanation.

My avatar is Pretty Bomber from Super Bomberman 3 on SNES. She appears in the password screen with her bomberman mask, but if you enter the correct password she turns into my avatar. I'm not a girl but she's my favorite character from one of my favorite games, so I picked her to be my avatar. The animation is custom made by me. Also, I was very surprised to see that she's not a robot, but rather a girl with a bomberman suit.
Edit: Now my avatar is Eriol from Cardcaptor Sakura because he is my favorite anime character.

I wanted an oversimplified logo as my avatar to make it more recognizable. Also, a long time ago I created an OC which just consisted of a stick figure with a blue top hat and a bowtie. Putting those two things together, I came up with what I am now. It's really my signature symbol at this point, I've been using it for quite a while as a way to express myself online.

Hey, Eriol is also my favorite character from this series, so that's cool.

Pink Floyd is a cool band. So i picked up one of their album covers and made it as my profile. But except i've made it a bit more greener.

Corrupted photo of Ed from Cowboy Bebop on my old hard drive. I thought it looked cool and put a background behind it.

It's not the shortest of stories relative to most other replies here, but it would be senseless to omit things to make it super simple.

I've been watching Virtual Youtubers for the past half a year or so. Early on into my descent down the rabbit hole/vtuber hell (whichever nomenclature you prefer), I learnt of Kanata from hololive, and as time has passed, she continued to grow on me with her actions and interactions with her fellow talent. Then I started learning about other things about her, such as this, which would've killed her career if she were a traditional idol. And she just kept on endearing herself more and more. Then it got to last month and she showed just how strong she was and what she could do (pacify panicking fans twice, get an original song written, recorded and an MV made for it in just over two weeks, continue to stream solo and in collabs, including a milestone of her own) in the face of her own barriers and an increasingly sombre time as her closest friend's graduation from the company approached.

So there is Kanata, because she is a personification of rare strength and willpower that I've come to truly admire and I have no shame in sharing that.

[Changed on August 26 so the above is now irrelevant]

I just really like Usapyon, honestly I project myself onto him a lot but we have a ton in common so I found myself gravitating towards him with him being one of my favorite characters of all time.

I was always fond of the Soldier class from Team Fortress 2, both from a gameplay and character perspective, so I based my general online avatar (profile picture and name) around him for the longest time. My picture used to be an excerpt from a page in the comics, but I switched it recently to one of the original concept arts for the game, as I began to really appreciate that 20th century Cornwell and Rockwell-esque art direction that defined the lifeblood of Team Fortress 2's early visual style.
