Is packing sprites not the best way to display them?
#1
Hi, I posted this sprite sheet and it got rejected

  • The sheet contains a lot of blank space or the sprites on it are not organized. Wasted space results in needlessly larger file sizes and disorganized sprites make the sheet much more difficult to use.

There is not a lot of blank space so that can't be the case. I used sprite packing software to remove all the blank space between sprites. Should I redo the sprites to make them aligned to a grid (more blank space)?

(The icons are white so it's hard to see on this background).

Giving things better alignment to a grid is significantly better; https://www.spriters-resource.com/pc_com...eet/85240/
See a sheet like this, where you can easily differentiate between each icon, and can pick it out without having to zoom in and go for pixel-precise selection.

We could run away
Leave behind anything paper
Not knowing where we're going to stay
When there's no Mondays

You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
When I'm in your arms, I feel safe from harm and sorrow too
You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
But most of all, nothing couldn't be solved when I'm with you
