Is something wrong with this sprite sheet I made

I tried making this custom sprite sheet of Bowser in the style of Super Mario Bros. 2 but it was rejected because it "didn't meet the quality standards". It didn't explicitly state why, and I need help.

I'd suspect it's because it has almost zero animation or even any poses other than idle. Different expressions isn't really enough to make it a usable asset.

The pixel art itself looks really nice. The original Bowser didn't have more animations either, but maybe you could add the stomp attack from SMB3?

Here are my suggestions.

1. Assuming you're going for Bowser's DiC design (aka King Koopa), I would recolor his skin green to more accurate to his artwork and to make his limbs more visible. I would also recolor the front part of his shell white.

2. His hands needs some touching up. It looks like has two left hands (from this perspective).

You don't notice the walking animation? The feet move. Same with the hit animation, and there are fire-breathing animations too that move his head, arms, and chest.

Considering there are submissions on the site of a single pose from a render translated into pixel art, I'm not sure why "lack of animations" would be a good reason to reject it anyway. And yeah this has more animation than the earliest official Bowser sprite.

Standards have changed over the years. Something like you described may have been approved in the past but would not be today.
