The face looks slightly less Marth-y now, but this is very nice work! Bend the legs slightly more, thats my only critisism on the animation, thus far.

Actually, that new head looks pretty good. It looks more 3D now, I reckon.
Very nice work on the animation. Like Aura said though, the knees aren't bobbing down very much.

Woah, the animation is pretty good, the only thing that is a bit odd is the dark double line in his right arm (our left).
I think he is better with the previous face, because this one looks a bit "childdish", and the another one looks more in marth's style (looking slightly up).

I think it's perfect.

Why'd you change the face? The original face was perfect. :/

Agreeing with Tyvon. This face lacks a nose. And noses are cool.
But otherwise, the animation is great. He'll probably need a bit less time between each bob, though.

Quote:And noses are cool. Now that i just stepped here, i should say that Marth's clothes (basically the skirt) are too static, and it have to move more.
06-20-2010, 05:47 AM
I think having the skirt move is very unnecessary. It's nice and clean now, and there's too much potential for it to become messy with that kind of edit. Besides, the cape flowing and such almost gives the illusion of the other pieces of clothing moving, too.

On the 3D model, you can see that there is next to no movement on his clothes. Besides, if you want to get historical, warriors would've worn fairly solid clothing, so there's pretty much no needfor the clothes to move

Its...Armor. Why would it really move at all?
That's where SSB messed up, its armor. And no need to make the animation ugly and have too much, it looks fine and clean the way Ran has it now.

Iceman, that is NOT armor. It is part of his tunic.
However, I agree that it might be too much to animate that, anyway. Thanked by: Iceman404

I think there's a point where you do too much you end up ruining something that was already good.

Changed the head to the old one as suggested and tried editing out those black lines on his right (our left) arm. Nothing to boast about. Now.... Which one? I actually kinda like Ran's head... what do you guys think? Stick with the old or try out the new? P.S. I'm aware of how I shouldn't have made them different speeds. I didn't know exactly how fast Ran's was, so I just went and made it the speed I thought it would be in-game. EDIT: Ran, what program did you use to animate the sprite with a transparent background? I'm gonna have to say the old one looks better.
BTW~ Oh God, this standing animation looks so official! (That's a compliment)

I think the new looks more like Marth, and is very good.
@Tarvonas, you can use Photoshop or Imageready to make the tranparence (Flash works too). |
