Yes, it has a darker yellow or maize color in the middle, with the brighter yellow on the outside... also sonic isnt pale skin-color when supersonic, but white/neon beige
Its definitely a reverse pillow shade for his quills in Brawl, but his skin color remains the same. His skin just looks brighter because of the lack of contrast with his yellow quills.

I hope you don't mind me fiddling with these sprites a bit, there's a few things I've noticed in regard to them.
One, there seems to be a orange shade in the pallete. I suggest removing it.
Two, I've moved the placement of the farthest ear. The ear was placed in an awkward posistion before, causing the appearance of both ears being directly on the top of the head instead of at the top sides as they should be.
Third, I tweaked the spines on Super as well as played with the pallete. The new pallete should in theory give more of an impression of glowing.
