Things I've learned by studying videos of gameplay from the GDC:
Doc still offers his words of wisdom between battles. King Hippo still can only be KO'd. Except, this time, he might be down after two: In this video, he loses his crown first. Like in Super Punch-Out, it's possible to regain some health, as witnessed near the beginning of this video. This game looks way more awesome than I expected! I especially like Disco Kid =3
You forgot one key word in your search: GDC.
And I agree about Disco Kid. Heck, I actually shed a few tears of joy when watching some of his videos. Over 15 years without a new Punch-Out. My excitement is starting to reach Brawl proportions. Wha-? How can anyone say that about Brawl?
Except those annoying Tourney folk. Anyway, Punch-Out is looking stellar. I've seen some gameplay footage, the cutscenes in between fights look like total meme-makers. Doc: "Can I get you a chocolate bar? Ha ha ha!"

looks like it's gonna be a radical game.
Here's a new interview about the game. They call it a "puzzle game", which makes me confident. And the Bruiser Brothers are not in the game.

Heheheh... The only reason why people prefer Melee is because they miss their wave dashing.
I prefer a more balanced, simple and fun game. They made the game a lot easier, while still proposing a challenge, which is always a good thing. I want Puch-Out to be like that. Simple to handle, yet challenging. I don't want to have to worry about taping to control stick 1.5 seconds to the ratio of blah blah blah... But hey you like what you like and I'll like what I like.
It's not even the wavedashing thing. I never used that.
I just... don't feel like I got "everything" I could have gotten with Brawl, y'know ? I came into the game expecting so much more than I got. I stopped playing Brawl about a month after buying it, but when I bought Melee I was playing every day for quite a while. and random slipping is really really really fucking annoying |
