[Art] Wut? KoA makes pics too?
#31
Ugh, I been so busy these past few days, so I'm offloading the last of my artwork for awhile. I've been neglecting my pixelling. Sad

I've done a few works of art since last post I feel like sharing. I'll start with the most recent, a sketch of Megaman X in woman form. This was gonna be my reference for my Gender Bender sprite entry, but I'm a slow old man so I'm just stuck with art. I didn't wanna really change much form X's armor design, so I just said "fuck it" and gave him tits.

With that said, I present to you MegaWoman XX (The XX is for chromosomes, ohohoho)

Also, a couple more retypes: Ground Kyogre and Water Groudon. Sad
Ground Kyogre
Water Groudon

Admittedly the last one is not so great but I love all my pieces. Smile

I think I'm gonna focus a bit more on my spriting now so my art can take a bit of a relax.

Ground Kyogre looks way too much like the Dragon version of him
Water Groundon's head is way too big, and he kinda looks like a mis-proportioned metagross

The megaman/women drawing is good, but like someone said earlier in the thread, it would be nice if you moved out of your drawing comfort, and moved to a style that's more difficult or very different from this one.

I know, I keep trying, but I can't find any I think I'd be good at. Got any suggestions?

Draw on paper more often? Start getting into something new, or get new ideas by browsing around. Try reading some things that might help influence your style, something you really like, or read something that will influence your thought process and make your drawings come out different. Expose yourself to other styles, too be honest I have no specific suggestions, these things just usually work for me when I get bored of something.

Well when I start drawing up again, I think I'm gonna go for a darker look and feel. I've been wanting to get into the atmosphere somewhat resembling the Castlevania series so that will be a nice starting point for me.

Haha, I decided to try out something new with my drawing style. Since I'm proficient enough with it, I figured I can try to emulate the CG style used in the WindWaker. I think I emulated i well enough, but I'll let you guys be the judge.

I started with something simple like the Wallmaster. Eventually I'll move my way up to Bokoblins and Dark Nuts. Smile

And I have pure sketches as well. I feel like some of my more technical works are produced with traditional media and I don't think they are able to be transferred over digitally while keeping their essence.

I drew all these while I was supposed to be taking notes. Be sure to click the thumbnails to view the full sized images!

The first is my interpretation of an elderly sage disguised as an owl. I chose a Barn Owl or the design because they are one of the creepiest birds out there and something about them just calls to me.

The second one is just some dragon I sketched. I wanted to try out texturing and shading so it came to be.

The third one is the most chilling. I just made like a zombie alien parasite bursting through the host body, casing it to be destroyed and contorted in the process.

Uh well, my first art in like a month or so, I fear I might be slipping. This is one of my favorite pokemon, Glaceon! Smile

I'm not too good with backgrounds and scenery at all so I kept it simple with a lil blizzardy scene. Came out ok I think. This is going to be an illustration on a card so it might come out interesting on the final product!

Also here's Glaceon without the blizzard:

Also a smallish Deoxys, based on his Smash Bros picture:

And here's some music for you guys, named "Guardian Beasts". It's a remix of the boss theme from Ys II. (Music counts as art too, k?)

The Megawoman's chest kinda bugs me. Because breasts? Totally not shaped like that. I think it'd look better if you reshaped the chest-plate part of the armour to look more like a... breastplate? IDK, I'm not explaining this very well.

Can't let this thread die. D;

Anywho, new art today. This is for a contest on deviantart where you gotta create a creature based on common household items inspired by the monsters from the upcoming movie, 9. I liked the feel of the movie and I'm a sucker for steampunk, soooo. Say hello to Chimera-tech Stomper:

Did this in a different style and took forever to do. Sad
