I know this is probably a very invonvenient time to be posting this, as you are now starting to work on Toad, but I have actually almost completed a Toad spritesheet of my own. Took me bloody ages, so I hope you guys think it's okay:

Although this wasn't actually intended for this project (I pretty much just made it for Runouw's game), Runouw asked that I post it here, so, whalla.
All I really need to do now is edit a couple of the sprites, and finish the final smash.
Anyways, please let me know what you think.

Awesome!
It would've been pretty cool to do Toad, but I'd hate for your spriting to go to waste, especially since we were doing Toad for the same thing (I'm part of an additional project that would've probably accept Toad, but I don't know the style they want yet ).
I had an idea on the Up+B and the Final Smash in case you want to use them. I was thinking his recovery could be that Propeller thing I seen in 'New Super Mario Bros. Wii', and the Final Smash could be the Mega Mushroom.
Anyway, If you want any help, I'd be happy to oblige =)
EDIT: If Runouw wanted it be in this project's style, then it may have to be re-done a bit. If so, I'm still here to help if you ever need it

This is... really epic. I bet that the SSF2 Expansions Forum is going to post a link to your sheet as an expansion (if they haven't already). You could probably add a clapping animation for when Toad loses. BTW, is Toad's Neutral B inspired by Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga (the beginning of the game where you control Toad and he spots Mario in the shower)? I'm picturing a fully charged Neutral B with a lot of horizontal knockback.
Thanks for posting this, BTW.

I'd honestly hate to burst your bubble, but it doesn't seem in style.

Ah! Clapping! I knew i had forgotten something! I'll get right on it.
And yeah, his B was very much inspired by that part of Superstar Saga (love that game). Just thought it'd be a fun move for him to use .
Anyways, I'm glad you like the sheet!

How so, if I may ask? I tried as best I can to make sure it looked as close to the style of the sprites over at the Smash Bros. Project, especially in relationship to Mario. Here's a comparison pic with my Toad sprite with some of the others in the project. Credit for all sprites go to their creator, of course:

EDIT: Sorry Maverick, must've missed your post. The propellor idea is intriguing -- Might have a crack at it as an alternate recovery later. As for his Final Smash, I was actually thinking of having Toad blow a Mushroom Kingdom Horn (like the ones shown in Mario and Luigi SS), and then have a bunch of different colored Toads run frantically across the stage, but if that doesn't turn out too good, I may take on the Mega Mushroom idea. Thanks for the help! If I do need help with anything, I'll be sure to let you know.

I'm sorry but its looks out of the smash style just use the current Toad we have right now and make it over, though if you want to submit it you can it just won't be counted as the fantasy smash project

No thanks, I'd rather stick with my Toad. The current Toad you guys are working on looks great, but in my personal opinion, just doesn't look enough like the Toad I know and like. I did a lot of research to make sure my Toad captured the youthfullness and joy that encompasses Toad's major traits, and based his appearance on official images. The result is something that I think represents his appearance in the games well.
Don't get me wrong, I really like the Toad sprite, but I just think mine resembles his appearance more. Man, I hope I don't sound rude saying that.

Or maybe he can change the pallette *GASP* and maybe minor editing with some things...

Quote from the game CaveStory by Studio Pixel, soon to be out on WII now!
Is it ok? Since it originally was a freeware game?
