It's better than your first sprite, but it could still use work. He looks too square; try doing more curves with the pencil or paintbrush tool. It will help give it a smoother look.

While you're at it, it would probably look better if you had the arms go away from the body just a little, instead of them hanging straight down.

Think of this more like drawing than spriting. Maybe start with a mouse drawing rather than a pixel by pixel. That would keep you from doing this.
