I'm PRETTY sure the forum is going to be renamed to the video game resource at some point
because "the spriters resource community" is fairly redundant at this point with all the other resources there too
so renaming that one section to the video game resource would also be kind of
weird

it used to be called "The Spriters Resource" before it was merged
but "The Resource" just sounds odd to me
it needs to have something in between
The Gaming Resource
so we can make 'The Gay men Resource' puns
anyway, I think that tSR is already iconic of us. Changing it will cause some reactions and it'll take a while to get used with it.
It's something like Google. It was supposed to be called 'Googol', but changing it now would be stupid because the name's already an icon. Do you get what I mean?

Well, I personally think "The Resource" is alright.
I don't think the name should be changed..
If you google sprites, TSR is the second result.
There are soooo many more websites with names based on video games than sprites.
This would just get lost in a giant pile of video game news/review sites.
I saw keep the name as it is.
Radio Times was an old radio guide magazine, and now it's mainly a tv guide, but they didn't change the name, because so many people know it as Radio Times.
And it still sells very well over here to this day.
We won't change the sites names - just the board.
The board doesn't come up on google because of the name, it comes up because of what's inlined with the content. The Spriters Resource is written on the page, and it'll be popular clicks when searched using the right terms.
So really, that point is kind of... Void.
But I know where you come from.
Still, I say we should become The VG Resource Community, since it's really 4 sites about different video game resources.

What's that? It's time for SengirDev to push for a more professional tSR again? Well... alright.
Indie Game Development
Hell, we have sprites, models and textures, and sounds. Why not have a "Dev Resource" where you host games/link to other sites that host games (like PxC). I've recently joined a site called NGA that has a nice system for indie game development. This leads me to my next point:
Sprite/Model/Sound Portfolios
In the UserCP you should be able to organize a portfolio. And add a new button next to "Find" at the bottom of a user's post that links to the user's portfolio.
Team System
A sub-forum in "The Dev Resource" that allow members to form teams, not just ask for requests.

Well, I've got a Suggestion:
In all the Pokémon Games section, why not put a subsection "Attack Graphics" in there?
That way, we would not have to wait to all attacks be ready and in one sheet, we would only have to wait to one attack to be ready and appreciate it.
So, what do you guys think?

No, separating attacks into tiny sheets is incredibly time consuming when really most people are un-lazy enough to just take what they need from the sheets themselves.

suggesting that sprite projects be moved into S&PA as a subforum, and Ripping Projects (which is currently inside of sprite projects) be moved into tSR Submissions
sprite projects is more creation-oriented, rather than ripping and/or submitting
it'd make much more sense in S&PA.

Why even have a section like that? Sprite Projects was one of the most messy parts of tSR, it was worse than requests at times!

sprite projects is (supposed to be) like requests except the OP works on the content themselves, instead of just getting others to do it
it's more like "hey guys i'm making a ton of customs and if anyone is interested in joining me, you can do it too"
there's actually a couple of legitimately good threads in there, such as pokemon pink, the rby remake, and devicho's devamps thread.

I guess we could add a subforum to community projects.
why leave the other mediums out?

community projects is more "larger scale" stuff, if that makes sense (and all mediums)
like the SSBB project, which will eventually become a game. There's going to eventually be threads for Music and PA and stuff.
sprite projects is more oriented to smaller scale stuff, and sprites only
tbh it'd fit better inside S&PA.

The idea is that Sprite Projects are now for things that upon completion would most likely end up on tSR customs. Personal showcase projects would go in S&PA.
