So I realized that since I have PSP 7 I had not touched MS Paint in a very long time, and I just decided to fool around in it for a bit.
I was having too much fun with the Oil Brush.
EDIT: I don't know why the hey it's so big, so spoilered.

ooohhh yeah i still struggle with this :\
however! i come with tutorials (the first is mine, but really should just be used to pique your interest in the links that follow )
head tutorial
additional head 1
additional head 2
additional head 3
additional head 3
the rest of the facial features
hope this helps!
Hey remember that homestuck fanart?
I went back to it and made it into an original piece because I want to sell shit at the art show near my house
It's still a work in progress, though:
I've been to the art show before with pixel art but I'm not sure if I want to go this year with digital art. Without a gimmick to set me apart I'm just another one of the crappy student artists. :C

i'd like to point that you should choose your subject in regards of what people would buy, not based on what you would like people to buy.
Yeah I agree with you there. I'm probably better off with the pixel art approach, people seemed to really like that last year. Got a bunch of people coming up to my table to check it out and about 1/4rd of them bought stuff. Mostly people my age and younger but I got a few parents buying stuff for their kids.
idk what to do with this piece though, maybe I'll put it on my table and see how it goes. It's worth a try, the art show is a really low-key event and not very competitive or anything (besides the contest but I probably won't be doing that, it just pisses me off when I lose to shitty photography).

Well no it's not Falco, but I can understand how someone would think that!
I redesigned him a bit so he isn't a "hawkman in a suit", but that's basically what the character is I guess.

I had to use like, 7 different colors to make her hair/skin because I didn't have any pink or light brown

Gors man I am a fan of your colored pencil skillz (because I have none),
but you have to do away with ruled paper.
Also I think her left leg became way too formless.
Other than that, I think you're improving, keep it up.
