would be this one? (it's a papercraft but it looks like it used a N64 model as a base)
because that looks totally fine to me.

Yeah I think the banana fairy's model is on the same level as that one.

Based on the images posted and from a technical perspective, the banana fairy has really bad mapping. The Peach model uses its texture space much better.
Also cube hands whut. Just looking at them, though, the banana fairy looks like a doodle compared to the Peach.
I really love that Metroid.
Just other quick sketches I did this morning Prostitute Predator

So I've been toying with some 3D for something I've got in my head, I've done some very basic 3D/texture stuff before, just nothing that's...y'know, "good" or anything.
Here is the difference that two days apparently makes. First attempt: Oh god what am I doing with my life. Latest attempt: (ignore the crease weirdness, it's just part of the mirroring before I adjust it.)

its that personal reminder all over again:
"metaru you have to try lowpoly one day, you have to!"

Update. Left the gloves brown because I kinda think it looks better that way, but I tried to play around with having multiple shades of brown to hopefully make it nicer.

(look at me being all clever with fancy words and shit.) Hit a snag that's being a pain in the ass though, realized there's not enough geometry around the knees to rig the legs properly, I'll have to fiddle with that when I give the poor dude some clothes. And some facial features might be cool too I guess. Fyi, the new version of Blender is way nicer than it used to be, the interface comes close to almost making sense now.

hell yeah blender is pretty nice.
i just realized you probably DIDN'T start with the top image and come up with the second. oops.
