Those green bows don't match well with the rest of the all blue set. You could add a little more green here and there and it won't seem so odd. Or just change the bows blue.

You'll have to take that up with ZUN himself, that's how the colors are on Sakuya everywhere else in the Touhou series. >> Not to say that ZUN never makes bad design choices, he actually makes a lot of mistakes, like throwing random shit onto dresses and calling it symbolism. To the piece itself, I like it, I really dig the variation in line. Though, her head looks kind of weirdly slanted, maybe that's just me though.

Or I could use cooler blues and greys. Instead of the vaguely warm colors I have now.
@Tellis, I've heard that from one other person as well. Heh, I guess I shoulda listened the first time. Though, when you say "weirdly slanted," do you mean the way it's slanted, or the amount that it's slanted?

Aha, I love how you have the different weights in line with that style, in my 2nd year illustration class, some people still need to be taught about using different line thickness. Congrats.

Haha, I really like how the skirt looks like the fixture on a lightbulb. That's super cute.
If you're gonna use textures like that I'd suggest finding some cleaner vectored looking ones so it fits better with the simple look you're going with. I used to have a bunch but I lost them in a reformat :/ Look around for screentones online and on Deviantart, you might be able to find some freebie patterns there! |
